Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 30L Overview
The black Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack from Gura Gear is designed to keep your mobile photo studio organized as you comfortably and securely carry it to your next destination. Its dual side-by-side camera compartments can each be dedicated to separate camera systems and their accessories using the backpack's adjustable partitions. While either camera compartment can be dedicated toward two DSLRs, six to seven lenses, a shoe mount flash, or instead, a medium format camera kit that includes two lenses, the other can then be used to hold a DSLR with an attached 400mm f/2.8 lens or an unattached up to 800mm lens.
A pair of side-by-side, front-facing zippered panels which fold open toward the center of the backpack provide individual access to the camera compartments. Together, two zippered mesh organizer pockets along the inside of each panel creates space for hard drives, portable batteries, camera filters, or small electronics within the camera compartments. Each panel also features an outer flap that can be unzipped and opened toward the center of the backpack, even when the panels remain closed, revealing two additional organizer pockets for items that need be accessed quickly and conveniently without exposing the contents of the camera compartments.
The Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack can be carried using its built-in top handle, side handle, or by its adjustable, padded shoulder straps as the resilient and breathable 3D mesh padding along the outside rear surface cushions the wearer's back and shoulders. The padding's elevated structure optimizes air circulation, minimizing perspiration in warm and hot environments. For heavy loads, the adjustable sternum strap and waist belt can be used to more evenly distribute the weight being carried. Along both sides of the backpack are two large, stretchable pockets and side-compression straps. When the Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack is in use, the pocket along the wearer's left side underneath the side handle can be used to hold a water bottle or accessories that need to be easily reached. Aside from a water bottle, a tripod, monopod, or trekking pole can instead be stored within the pocket along the wearer's right side and further secured using the side-compression strap located above that pocket.
Constructed with VX-21, nylon and polyester material that is both durable and lightweight, the Kiboko 2.0 30L Backpack is built to be weather resistant and includes a seamless cover for use under heavy rain.

Gura Gear Kiboko 2.0 30L Reviews
Too small for Z9/FTZII/Sigma 60-600 Sport
Pro-sized DSLRs and Super telephoto Lenses is the designation for the 30L. I got this bag for two reasons: packing/hiking; and several other working wildlife photographers who praise Gura Gear bags (I have been using ThinkTank as my primary bags with specific Tenba bags, and a belt carry system). My primary wildlife system at present is a Nikon Z9, FTZII, Sigma 60-600 Sport (with a rubber hood -- I use rubber hoods on all my lenses for which these are available in order to image through glass or mesh). The system (as a well as my now backup Nikon gripped D850) fit into a number of bags I use, including Think Tank Digital Holster 150 # THDH150 MFR # 710883 and a Tenba Solstice 24L # TES24LBPBLK MFR # 636-415 (the latter because it is a rotator that allows access to gear without removing the pack). The Kiboko is well padded and did not require an additional load belt (the Tenba Solstice waist belt was not sufficient, and the Solstice also lacks load lifter adjustments at the top of the shoulder straps -- none of these deficiencies are present in the Kiboko). My Sigma 60-600 Sport is fitted with a Wimberley foot as well as an additional Wimberley AS plate so that I can fit a Cotton Carrier hub onto the front of the additional plate and still easily mount the lens into an Arca Swiss style clamp. However, when I close the zipper on the Kiboko compartment holding the Z9 FTZII Sigma 60-600, the fabric is pulled tight and there is tension on the zipper. As the Z9 is not as tall as a gripped D850 nor D6, such pro-sized DSLRs evidently would not fit into the Kiboko v2. Unless there is a solution for such bodies plus lenses, the Kiboko seems to need a redesign. I have contacted Gura Gear support but there has been no response as of yet. I will attempt to update this review if there is a solution. As the Kiboko is not going into service until this issue can be resolved, I cannot properly comment upon either durability nor comfort when loaded with the straps properly adjusted.
A perfect bag
The best photo bag with a nice design
Love it, love it, love it
Split top opening is the best! Get your gear in and out without room for the flap. Big enough for all my gear, comfortable enough to bring it all with me.
4.5 stars if I could, but still some room for improvement.
This bag easily holds two Olympus bodies, including the approximately 6x6 E-M1X, with long lenses attached to each, plus a large Godox V1 flash and homemade diffusion rig, as well as five additional MFT lenses and two teleconverters (with room to spare). Plus a whole pile of batteries, cables, etc. I had considered the similar (but discontinued) Mindshift Gear Moose Peterson bags before purchasing the Gura Gear bag, but I feel the Gura is a better design with better materials, plus it's nice that it's an ongoing manufacturer-supported design. I like that the backpack straps stow away, but the system for doing so is a little clumsy, and if there's a suggested method on how to do it, Gura Gear didn't include those instructions. The straps could also use some thicker padding since a bag of this size is almost guaranteed to have 20-30 pounds of gear in it. It's not particularly uncomfortable, but you're not going to mistake it for a purpose-built backpacking design. Otherwise, I think this design is great for wildlife shooting out of a vehicle or any situation that doesn't involve active hiking and fast lens changes. It definitely has faster access than a standard camera backpack that has to fully unzip, but not as fast as designs that don't have to be removed to access (like side access panels, the flip around technology of Mindshift 180 bags, hip packs, or belt pouches). I recently purchased a Sony A7R IV and 200-600mm lens and don't anticipate any issues fitting that setup in this bag in place of one of my Olympus long lens combos.
VERY well designed, but.....
This backpack is incredibly well designed and versatile; however, it has one major flaw - no place to carry a laptop! Has anyone figured out how to do it? Perhaps other purchasers pointed this out in their reviews, but if so, it escaped me. Were it not for this shortcoming, I would absolutely give it five stars.
You will love it if you like it to be organised
The good and bad part of this bag is its butterfly compartment which opens 50% of the bag on each side allowing you to organise stuffs according to your usage. Eg. 1 side tripod, the other camera. Or 1 side clothings, the other camera gears. Once open its incredibly easy to organise them using old school velcro partitions which it comes with a ton of it. The catch it, balancing the weight on both side. Something notable is the design to keep all the waistband and straps to be tucked inside and make the bag looks very neat not to mention the material makes the bag feather weight. You will tend to overload with things to make the bag feels heavy. Try other bags with the same load you will realise how lightweight this bag can be. I've used the first generation, sold it because of its design - too plain, not exciting and opted for those adventure looking bag. Not only they cost me more most of the time, no 1 is going to look good with the extra weight of these bags bogging the photographer down. I have since used 3-4 other major brands equivalent and decided to go back to this version 2. Overall not an exciting bag, but very practical for me. If i'm carrying it on the street like an urban bag, I won't buy it. If I'm bringing for travel and goes to forest, tundra, national parks, the animals will not care at all. PS: the company seems to be uncontactable nowadays not sure are they still operating. Buy them while you can.

Awesome backpack, thank you
Gura Gear 30L Great for longer lenses
I had wanted this bag for a long time and finally found it on sale for Christmas. I have the 2 smaller ones and they serve their purpose. This one does as well. I am able to carry a 600mm f/4 without the lens hood on 1 side and whatever else I need on the other. I haven't tried the 800mm f/5.6 but it is supposed to work as well. It is a large case but lightweight and manageable. Now I can finally go places with my 600mm lens. You can use the top compartments for batteries and cards as well as hard drives. I have wanted this pack for a long time and finally decided to go for it.
