PTZOptics PT-JOY Overview
Control up to 255 PTZ cameras using IP or serial communication with the 4th generation PT-JOY-G4 IP/Serial Joystick Controller from PTZOptics. The PT-JOY-G4 offers joystick and button control for up to 255 PTZ cameras via IP and seven cameras via serial protocols, with support for VISCA, VISCA-over-IP, Pelco-P, and Pelco-D protocols over IP and serial RS-232, RS-422, and RS-485 communication. It enables you to control the speed of your pan, tilt, zoom, and lock moves and incorporates an LCD screen as well as an on-screen display on your camera feed.
The controller also offers the ability to control iris, focus, white balance, exposure, and on-the-fly speed control to control the finer settings on the PTZ cameras. Other features include glowing buttons for working in the dark, 255 camera presets, and nine quick presets buttons. You can import and export configurations using IP.
The PT-JOY-G4 supports a variety of camera models and manufacturers, and you can simultaneously control multiple brands such as HuddleCamHD, Sony, PTZOptics, BirdDog, and NewTek. The unit comes with an 8' long RS-232C cable and a 12 VDC universal power supply. It can also be powered using Power-over-Ethernet (PoE).

PTZOptics PT-JOY Reviews
So much better than using the App!
I have been controlling my 5 camera set up with the App, but now that I have this joystick with the extra features, my ability to get the camera shots I want are better than ever. Focus lock is a great and useful feature. Still use the app, but this controller is a game changer.
Construction a bit cheap
There is a lot of play in the joystick and really wish that it could ramp movements on their PTZOptic cameras (at this point even the lowest speed is abrupt when fully zoomed in on either the 20x or 30x cameras)
Great, straight-forward device (maybe too straight-forward?)
Another solid, does-what-it's-supposed-to device from PTZ Optics, though (and maybe I'm spoiled) I wish the user interface was a little more modern, here. It's like running Command Prompt on a super tiny black and white screen on the device, and options you're selecting disappear after 1 second, so knowing exactly what settings you're adjusting and what they're called is proving very difficult. That said, it works well and we just use our ATEM Mini Extreme to really tweak camera settings and whatnot.
PTZ Optics PT-Joy-G4 IP/serial joystick controller
We have used this controller for our remote productions at school and having this controller has allowed us to adjust our 3 ptz cameras quickly and easily with this controller. Prior to having this tool, we had to adjust each camera individually on the TC1 control surface. It took at least 3 clicks to get to the control of each camera. This one is one click and your in control. We love it!

Easy to learn interface.
This controller has an easy to learn interface which will be good for our non-tech savy volunteers.
Issues with pan
There are issues with both joy sticks , when zoom all the way in ,the pan speed is really fast even when it is on speed 1 , when pan it skips and doesn't have a smooth pan .
Essential gear for multiple camera set ups!
I run a church broadcast each week with five PTZ optics cameras. Three are newer NDI versions, and two are the older SDI versions. Being able to control all cameras from one controller is so great. This controller allows me to not have to add another person to the crew to run camera. A great pairing with PTZ Optics cameras.
