Drawmer 1977 Analog Channel Strip

With high-quality FETs, the 1977 provides a clean, transparent sound with an incredible array of control over your sounds that includes a powerful preamp section with +66 dB of gain, fully featured DI functionality, stepped impedance matching, and a variable high-pass filter, as well as side-chain equipped compression with three styles of warm saturation, and you can control signal flow to alter the order of processing, or use the extra clean XLR output to bypass the EQ and compression section entirely and just use the mic preamp.

The 1977 incorporates dedicated mic and line XLR inputs, side-chain inserts, and two 1/4" instrument DI connections (one input and one throughput) for tackling almost any audio application, from subtle adjustments to addressing majorly problematic recordings. The backlit analog VU meter is easy to read and sports a +10 dB rescale mode when working with extra hot output levels. With individual section selection buttons, preamp phase reversal, and a flexible output section with wet/dry control and +12 dB of makeup gain, there is simply no limit to the type of audio work that can be done on the 1977. This unit includes a power cable.

The pristine preamplifier, produced by THAT Corporation, incorporates mic, line, and instrument DI facilities with +66 dB of stepped gain, allowing you to make ultraclean, transparent, and precise recordings, sweeten up dull audio, or perfect your guitar sound. However, that's not all, as the preamp also includes mic matching via switched impedance that brings out the best of every mic in your studio. Whether using a high-end condenser, ribbon, or even your dullest microphone, you will be able to find it's sweet spot with ease.

The 1977 incorporates a true parametric equalizer, with three bands of fully variable frequency control and cut and boost of ±12 dB. You also get switchable slopes (from 6 to 12 dB per octave depending on the band) and peak selection. In addition, a fully variable bandwidth control of the mid band makes the 1977 incredibly versatile and capable of modifying everything from subtle fine tuning to tone sculpting problematic recordings, and, of course, anything in between.

A fully featured compressor allows you to control the dynamics of your recordings and Drawmer trademark Big and Air modes help to preserve the very deep lows and enhance the sparkling highs that lesser compressors remove. A PGM switch engages an autorelease function for automatic adaptation to the dynamics of the incoming signal. The compressor section also incorporates variable harmonic saturation with a choice of 3 styles that will allow you to warm up your recordings with complete precision.

The output section includes a wet/dry mix for parallel processing that allows you to easily dial in how much EQ and compression is used via a single knob, plus an output fade control to either add fade outs or to boost the level to match high-end audio interface audio input levels. A large backlit analog VU meter allows for accurate monitoring. And finally, a Preamp Direct switch that bypasses the EQ, compressor, and saturation completely provides a clean microphone output for A/B comparisons or external processing.

Time delay relays on the output section allow for a perfectly clean power up and down, avoiding unwanted pops. The internal low-hum toroidal linear power supply features a manual voltage selector switch for switching between 115 and 230 VAC, providing universal compatibility with any power environment. And like all Drawmer products, the 1977 sports classic Drawmer build quality with a rugged steel chassis and aluminum front panel, all designed and handmade in the UK.
