Connect legacy serial devices to your USB Type-C compatible computer using the USB Type-C Male to 9-Pin Serial Male Adapter Cable from StarTech. Compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux, this 1.4' adapter cable converts your computer's USB Type-C port in a RS232 DB9 serial port with COM port retention, allowing it to connect with point-of-sale terminals, bar code scanners, serial modems, in addition to a variety of industrial equipment and other peripherals. The adapter also supports advanced features such as remote wake-up and power management control.
COM Port Retention
The adapter stores its assigned serial COM port values on built-in nonvolatile memory, which allows it to be automatically reassigned the same port values each time it is reconnected to the computer, even if it is plugged into a different USB port.
