B&H has put together this Genaray 2-Light Portrait and Background Kit to offer photographers and videographers the opportunity of light placement options in a core kit. The kit includes two 50" SSL-50 Soft Strip LED Lights with built-in 2-way barndoors, as well as a heavy-duty air-cushioned light stand for each. An 86" steel boom arm is included to employ one of the lights as side light, background light, or overhead as a hair light.

Genaray SSL-50 Soft Strip Daylight LED Light (4 x 50")

Offering a soft wrap-around quality thanks to its long, narrow form factor and 400 bright LEDs, the 50" long Soft Strip LED Light from Genaray is a versatile fixture with features that are easy to use in the studio or on location. The light has color temperature that's a solid, daylight-balanced 5600K, with a high CRI/TLCI rating of 96/98.3, an indicator of precise color rendering. The SSL-50 features an all-digital dimmer for single digit adjustment control throughout the dimming range from 100% all the way down to 1%. Other dimmers without this functionality can exhibit abrupt falloff below 10%, greatly limiting their dynamic range.

The SSL-50 runs barely warm to the touch, allowing you to work close to the subject without causing discomfort or hot light hazards. The power-saving light produces an output of 1693.6 lux at 3' while consuming just 80W of power, helping you keep the temperature of your set and your operational costs down.

The long strip fixture can be used vertically or horizontally for dramatic results. In vertical orientation, the SSL-50 is ideal for use as a sidelight or for dramatic lighting. It also creates long, elegant reflections when shooting products. In horizontal mode, the light has a wrap-around quality with appealing falloff at the top and bottom of the frame. Another use is overhead as a hair light.

The SSL-50 has a beam angle coverage of 75 degrees, which can be modified and controlled by its two-way barndoors. The fixture comes with a multi-voltage adapter that makes it ready for world use, but it can also run on optional V-mount batteries when AC power is unavailable. A hard carrying case is included to store and transport the light.

Horizontal or Vertical Orientation The long, thin form factor gives a wrap-around quality when used horizontally. Used vertically, it's well-suited for a sidelight or for lighting objects and casting a long, elegant reflection. 2-Way Barndoors This simple but effective modifier allows you to swing one or more leaves into the light's beam for selective lighting of your subject. Lollipop Mount The mount incorporates a ball head attachment with ratchet handle that provides precise fine-tuning and adjustment of the light's position. Using it gives you the option to quickly change the light's orientation from horizontal to vertical or to any position within the ball head's 360° adjustable range. AC or Optional Battery Power The SSL-50 ships with a multi-voltage 100-240 VAC power supply but it can also run on V-mount batteries when mains power is unavailable. Even Illumination The SSL-50 provides even illumination along its 50"-inch length, without noticeable hot spots. This Impact Heavy-Duty Air-Cushioned Light Stand is a black anodized aluminum support that rises to a height of 9.5' and folds down to 42" for storage and transport. The stand will handle up to 22 lb and is topped with a removable 5/8" spigot with 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threads. It has a wide footprint of 52" for greater stability. Air cushioning gently lowers the light when making height adjustments to protect equipment and fingers.
