Quite
Quite, 8TB, Inexpensive. What more could you want for storage?
Not fastest but most reliable
As a casual desktop user, this is the best choice, I guess.
Great Value
MAC Pro used for audio editing had a small HDD that failed. Bought this one and slipped in place of the other one. Worked right out of the box and has made editing more efficient and has much more storage space than the old 1 Terabyte.
Spacious, Reliable Drive
This is the second drive like this I have bought. Yes, I would have loved to get a SSD drive this big and much faster. But for reasonable cost and the huge amount of storage space, this drive is a winner.
Never had one of these fail
Others have said this drive fails for them. I've never had that issue. Standard archive storage drive for me.
Working so far
Deployed in NAS, working as of this review. I can't really tell if it's louder than my WD drives but it preforms well.
Additional internal storage solution
Added it into a free bay on the Precision 3660. In disk management initialized, formatted and assigned a drive letter. Works like a champ and is quiet.
Fantastic Back-Up Solution
Using the Barracuda drives to archive and back-up my photography work. Using in an open shuttle drive, may move to NAS when I am able to have a larger office space. For not this works really well.
