Sirui HC-110 Reviews
Works great
Ordered it for myself for Christmas. Came well packaged, including a wooden frame around the box. Fits my gear perfectly with a little room to spare (D850, D500, 1.4 and 1.7 teleconverter, 28-300, 300 f2.8, 70-200 f2.8, 50 f1.8, 200-500, and even the 600 f4 (barely on the bottom shelf diagonally (alone with no hood)). It also has an interior light that comes on when the door opens (not super great lighting but a nice touch).
Nice cabinet
I wished I bought it sooner just to keep the dust off my camera equipment. Set the humidity and when the humidity goes above your settings it goes on. There is no noise when it's running, just a green blinking light on the front.
GREAT CABINET AND NEEDED IN THE PNW
After living in Denver for decades, and then moving to the Pacific Northwest, I figured I needed something to keep the equipment dry. No more than I got this (quickly sent from ), unpacked it and got it filled and running, then I shot a two-day cyclocross event in rain and high humidity. On day one, a photographer left early after his main lens fogged up. One day two, one of my lenses fogged. In Denver I never had this happen, but the second day shooting in the Pacific peninsula, I had a 700-200 fog up. When I got home, I put in the cabinet and after a day or so, it was good as new. If you are considering one of these and think the cost is high, check the repair costs to remove mold from a good lens. This is way cheaper. The lock is a nice touch, too.
Seems to be working very well
Very well made, and fits a lot of equipment. Perfect for my old Leica lenses and it holds quite a bit of equipment. Also, it is attractive for this type of item
Good product, works well
I have been using this Sirui HC-110 dry cabinet for some time now. It maintains RH. Also the set up was very easy
Excellent implementation of a smart product!
After battling occasional fungus in lenses and on electronics with a host of silica gel packs, golden rods, and similar gimmicks, I ordered a Sirui dry cabinet and it has saved my photo and video equipment. We live in the tropics where humidity is always a challenge. I got the idea to order another (smaller) unit from Amazon for our cooking spices. No more gooey salt! No more caked garlic powder or moldy Oregano! Eventually I outgrew the first electronics cabinet and ordered the Sirui HC-110 which is every bit as solid and well made as the first Sirui we purchased (but is leagues better than the other branded one with our spices). The first Sirui cabinet now is inour pantry with flour, coffee, and dry goods. These are life-changing for people in humid climates. We rely on solar power for our electricity, and these units draw a tiny 18w current yet stabilize their interior humidity quickly after being opened repeatedly. Most importantly for us in our remote location, we were pleased that each cabinet we have purchased from has been robustly packaged for shipment. We actually ordered one cabinet from a competitor a few years ago for a nonprofit we work with because they had a particular large size we were looking for. It arrived hopelessly damaged with only a thin wrapping of paper on 5 sides. The competitor never made good on that loss for us, either. I will never stray from or Sirui again.
Wished it was a little bigger (insert joke here)
I purchased this unit as a compromise between size, price and odds of arriving undamaged. All in all, I'm happy with it but it does seem smaller than expected. My Canon 500mm F4 barely fits on the bottom and the trays limit space even further due to their lip design. I also found the trays to feel a bit cheap which is unnerving when loading them with expensive and somewhat heavy gear. Another gripe is the energy saving screen. It does not constantly display the humidity. You have to push one of the control buttons for it to light up. I don't know why but I find this annoying in that it looks like it is not working. It is, but if there was a malfunction, you would have no idea by a casual visual inspection. Another viewer commented also on the settings lacking accuracy. I found this to be true. I had to adjust the settings higher (50% humidity) in order to reach and maintain 45% (which is what I wanted).
Nice solid dry cabinet
Bought the Sirui HC110, expecting it will not house all my gears... but all my gears are now inside the dry cabinet with a little space to spare for future GAS... It is quiet and I have the cabinet beside my bed... I have a few rangefinder bodies and lens, Hasselblad V with 2 lens, 4x5 camera with 4 lens, 3 light meters, 2 small flash, and some accessories in the cabinet!!!
