Great concept, decent results for web sharing
Pros: Compact, sturdy, built-in light. It's great for folks who don't need a flatbed scanner but still like to develop their own film and share online. Included software (on the app/play stores) is pretty slick with color rendition. Cons: With modern phones, the cameras aren't always in the center of the phones, so you'll have to offset your phone a bit - it won't sit dead center on the platform. The software resolution is dependent on you phone camera. You're downscaling from a 24x36mm image to a 5x5mm sensor, so expect some quality loss. It's good for just social media sharing, I wouldn't recommend printing the images. The iPhone version of the software doesn't crop, you have to do that yourself.
Use to digitize slides
The foldout legs section which is glued on came out; I will have to re-glue it - not a big problem. When you take a picture of your slide the cardboard slide frame shows in the picture and each slide must be cropped. It is time-consuming, but from what I've heard the expensive scanners are also time-consuming. I like the way the photos go straight to your phone's photo app. I'm glad that my old vacation slides will now be accessible and easy to view.
Very Useful
I had a lot of negatives that I could not tell what was in the picture. The Kodak Mobile Film Scanner was the perfect tool to accomplish this. It was simple to assemble and worked well. It also allowed me to take a picture from the negative and store it on my mobile phone. The scanner has some editing features, but I would recommend that this is done from a computer for more precision and editing options. The price of the scanner is also very reasonable. I did not have to purchase expensive equipment to achieve the results I was looking for.

Not for iPhone 12 Pro Max
Could not get focus using Photos or Halide. Very disappointed since it seamed a good way to quickly review B&W and color negs to see if the content was worth spending the time to make top quality copies. Bummer.
