The large-sized Camera Pod from Hyperlite Mountain Gear measures 9.5 x 6.5 x 4.25" and is an ultralight, durable, and weatherproof camera pouch. Built with a selection of lightweight Dyneema composite fabrics for performance and protection, you can be confident your camera is just as secure as your other gear, and just focus on the shot you're after.
The Camera Pod features eight points of attachment, including two Nite Ize #2 Slidelock aluminum carabiners. It has 1/4" closed-cell padding and a waterproof zipper for optimal protection while hiking, camping, or traveling in harsh locations.

Great for outdoor sports
Hyperlite Mountain Gear (HMG) makes some of the most durable and certainly the lightest mountain gear on the market. I own one of their mountaineering backpacks and have snow camped in one of their floorless tents. I almost always carry a camera with me when mountaineering, rock climbing, or skiing. I normally toss my camera in the top of my bag. My backpack doesn't provide much protection, since my my camera can easily rub against my water bottle and other hard gear. Plus I miss a lot of shots because I'm too lazy to take my backpack off. I was stoked when I saw one of my ski touring partners wearing a camera pod. You can easily clip the pod to your pants as a holster for on the go shots. There are enough attachment points that you could attach to your HMG backpack although I haven't done that. The large perfectly fits my Canon R5 with RF 50mm F1.2L. I chose black because of dirt. Like HMG's other gear, white will turn brown over time with use. As a previous reviewer stated, there isn't a ton of padding in the pod. But if you fit the persona that uses HMG then you're primarily carrying climbing, camping, and/or ski gear, and a camera as a luxury item.
Hyper light, hyper protective
This is so compact and waterproof zippering, I will hike with it always. Perfectly fits my R6 with a 24-105 f4 lens. Very happy with it.
Double check your camera measurements first
In headline of claims for carrying, it claims to be big enough for either a mirrorless or a DSLR. This will fit most mirrorless; sometimes with a very, very small lens. Almost all DSLR cameras will not fit in this bag. Levels of protection are light, Hardware mostly cosmetic purposes.
Perfect minimalist pod/holster for small mirrorless etc.
I recently picked up a Sony a7c with Sigma 24-70 F2.8, and I was looking for a case of some kind I could attach to a backpack sternum strap. This HLMG Camera Pod is the perfect, albiet very tight, fit for this setup. I used a couple loops of 2mm cord to create attachments for the backpack strap (check the pics) I just did 8 days of skiing with this rig on my pack the whole time. It met my goal of having a camera accessible to take out and shoot in seconds, and it is a perfect lightly padded storage pouch for the camera otherwise. I highly recommend one of these for your small mirrorless setup!
Very light!
Fits the Canon R5 with 15-35mm f2.8 Rf lens. Very light and minimalist. Perfect if you just want some light protection for your camera while hiking, with easy access.
It works in the rain
Walking the Te Araroa Track in New Zealand and hit by a heavy rain. My camera remained dry. I do not expect anything more than that.
Great for climbing
Broke this one in during a week of climbing and shooting in Indian Creek. This bag is super durable and resisted tons of rubbing on sandstone and kept my camera safe and clean inside thanks to the weatherproofing! It also carries very comfortably on the climbing harness or on the out side of my backpack straps. Also helps it has a less dorky look about it compared to most camera pods....
