It provides up to 400W of total output power, including its 50W RMS powered subwoofer, and supports Bluetooth wireless audio streaming from compatible devices. This system supports 4K and HDR pass-through and has four HDMI inputs and one output, which supports ARC for getting display-based audio, such as from the display's built-in apps, to the receiver.
The YHT-4950U supports various HD audio formats, including Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. For setup ease, the YPAO sound optimization feature uses an included microphone to analyze your room's acoustics and adjust the system's output for enhanced sound quality.

4K Ultra HD Support with 4K/60p, HDR, and BT.2020
The receiver in this system passes through 4K UHD video at 60 frames per second so you can enjoy the high definition video quality of 4K without degradation. All HDMI ports are also HDCP 2.2 compatible to comply with 4K copyright protection, in addition to the wider color gamut of BT.2020 pass-through, plus the HDR10, Dolby Vision, and HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) HDR formats.
CINEMA DSP Technology
This technology supports the playback of HD audio (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, etc.) to help provide natural, expansive sound imaging. CINEMA DSP is designed to reproduce the dynamics of famous venues, such as the Bottom Line, Roxy Theater, and European cathedrals, letting you experience their ambiance in your room.
Sound Calibration with YPAO
YPAO (Yamaha Parametric room Acoustic Optimizer) is engineered to analyze the room acoustics and your system, then adjust various audio parameters to help provide the best sound for your room. Place the included microphone at your listening position and turn YPAO on to tune the system for optimal performance in its installed setting.
Discrete Amplifier Configuration
The included receiver uses a discrete amp configuration and low-jitter PLL circuit to help provide clear audio.
Rich Bass Reproduction Technology
This low-range enhancement technology is designed to deliver rich bass while maintaining proper localization and sound balance, even with compact front speakers. When using a subwoofer, it boosts the volume of the entire low range of the speaker system, not only the front speakers, but also the bass from the subwoofer.
Virtual CINEMA FRONT Provides Virtual 5-Channel Surround Sound
As an alternate setup configuration, Virtual CINEMA FRONT allows you to install all of the speakers at the front and enjoy virtual 5-channel surround sound when rear speaker placement is not possible.
Bluetooth Streaming with Compressed Music Enhancer
The included receiver is equipped with Bluetooth connectivity to let you enjoy wireless music playback from smartphones and other devices. Compressed Music Enhancer technology helps ensure that your music will have vivid, dynamic sound quality during wireless playback.
SCENE Buttons
Pressing a SCENE button powers on the receiver and selects the input source and DSP mode. You can reset the buttons for different sources by selecting a source and DSP mode, then holding the desired SCENE button for over three seconds.
AV Setup Guide App
Use this app to get assistance with cable connections between the receiver and your source devices. It guides you through various other settings, such as speaker connections, TV and source device connections, and power amplifier assignments.
ECO Mode
When ECO Mode is turned on, it can reduce power consumption by up to 20%.
