Quickly and efficiently download content from your memory cards with the PRO-READER SD and microSD Card Reader from SanDisk Professional, which features one UHS-I SDXC card slot and one UHS-I microSDXC card slot. The dock connects to your host Windows 10+ or macOS 10.9+ system using a 5 Gb/s USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 interface and an included USB-C cable, meaning it plays well with devices that include iPads, G-RAID drives, computers, and other devices with a USB-C port. While this reader is compatible with most SD and microSD cards, it has been optimized for SanDisk Extreme PRO UHS-I cards that have SanDisk QuickFlow technology for high-speed offloads that minimize downtime.
SanDisk built this reader with an aluminum enclosure to help ensure it stays cool while in use. It also features a stackable design, which helps it stay in place, and may be paired with SanDisk's PRO-DOCK 4 docking station. To help prevent accidental file deletions, there is a write-protect switch on the back.

Fast and Effective!
After researching various card readers, I opted to go with SanDisk, a proven entity with my SSD portable drives. I'm very happy with the card reader, which joins the SanDisk-Pro CFexpress card reader I also recently purchased. They stack nicely, and most importantly they're very fast with my iMac, MacBook Pro, and iPad. I'm so pleased with this purchase!

Slow reader with old technology
This card reader is super slow. The description never mentions its read and write speed but mentions blazing fast 5Gbps USB-C connection but this is actually a UHS-I card reader. I purchased it and was topping out at 90MBps, which is unacceptable in this day and age of V60 and V90 cards in the UHS-II standard. My backup spinning HDD is faster than that. You really have to understand all the annoying nomenclature of SD cards to realize that this reader is going to be slow and I think SanDisk should put this in its description. I will be returning my unit.

Extremely quick to register when a card is inserted and the read speed is as advertised. A simple but elegant case. The overall length of the reader is a bit long, but fits ok.
