Power your gaming and content creation experiences by including the MSI MPG X870E CARBON WIFI LGA 1851 ATX Motherboard in your computer build. Supporting Intel Core Ultra series 2 desktop processors with the LGA 1851 socket, gamers and enthusiasts can outfit this motherboard to smoothly handle demanding applications and AI workloads.
Designed to help simplify builds, MSI's EZ technology makes it easy to install one M.2 PCIe 5.0 and four PCIe 4.0 SSDs to store your games library, applications, and important files. There are also four SATA III connectors available alongside four DDR5 DIMM slots. With two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, you can install powerful graphics cards and other compatible expansions.
The rear panel features two Thunderbolt 4 ports that can transfer up to 40 Gb/s with compatible devices or connect a USB-C compatible 8K display. The one USB-C and 10 USB-A ports work with 10 Gb/s devices. An internal header allows you to connect a front panel 20 Gb/s USB-C port. Built-in Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) support and 2.5 and 5 Gb/s Ethernet ports provide you with connections to compatible network devices for smooth video streaming and low-latency online games.
EZ M.2 Clip II
MSI's EZ M.2 CLIP II makes SSD installation seamless. Insert the SSD into the M.2 slot and press it down to lock it in place with the clip. Flicking the clip outward lets you remove the SSD. Use the EZ M.2 Clip II remover tool to detach or reposition the clip on the motherboard.
EZ PCIe Release
An easy-to-access physical button release mechanism helps to remove any PCIe card with a single tap, making it easier to upgrade to a new GPU or other compatible device.
EZ M.2 Shield Frozr II
The toolless design makes installing or removing your M.2 SSD and Shield Frozr easy.

Wi-Fi 7

Utilizing 320 MHz on the 6 GHz band ensures reliability during simultaneous transmissions at max speeds and the 4096 QAM boosts peak transmission rates and network capacity. Multi-Link Operation enables devices to simultaneously send and receive data across several frequency bands and channels to meet traffic demands and the growing number of wireless devices.
Thunderbolt 4
In addition to transferring up to 40 Gb/s with a reversible USB-C connector, Thunderbolt 4 supports up to one 8K monitor or two 4K displays simultaneously. It also works with 20 Gb/s USB4 and you can daisy chain up to six devices to a single port.
PCIe 5.0
Doubling the speed of the previous generation, the PCIe 5.0 x16 interface can reach 128 GB/s.
Frozr Design
With Frozr Guard, the motherboard features an extended heat sink, two connected MOS heatpipes, the M.2 Shield Frozr, high quality 7W/mK MOSFET thermal pads, enhanced M.2 thermals, and an enlarged PCH heat sink. With Frozr Sync, you can connect and synchronize with MSI coolers and cases with strategically positioned pin-header locations, including a dedicated pump-fan header.
