The flash is also compatible with Nikon's i-TTL flash system when mounted to the camera and has a powerful guide number of 197' at ISO 100 and 200mm. Operation is simplified with a clear LCD screen on the back, a dial, and a selection of buttons. The head also offers a pull-out bounce panel for reflecting some light forward when using the tilt functionality. Full sync options are available as well, with high-speed, 1st & 2nd curtain sync. Yongnuo YN685 Reviews
Good flash for a fair price
This is a great flash for the money. I have purchased two of them. It has a high guide number & plenty of power, although the color is closer to tungsten than daylight. I've been occasionally using them for real estate interiors and have found that using the lower manual settings will provide acceptable light without affecting the color too much. Overall, it is certainly worth the price.
Major BANG for your BUCKS!
I needed another flash to compliment my Nikon SB-700 Speedlight, which I use with a Yongnuo YN-622N-TX i-TTL Wireless Flash Controller and Transceiver, on my Nikon D-850. I was able to set everything up easily, in spite of the fact that the factory instructions are difficult to understand. (Perhaps an American should edit and rewrite them for this market.) Neverless, I got it all working in conjunction with my Nikon speedlight, and the cost was a fraction of what it would have been had I gone with another Nikon product. This flash is way more powerful than my SB-700 and will probably become my primary flash.
It works pretty well
I bought this Yongnuo YN685 speedlite because I can not afford to spend the money on Nikon. I do own a Nikon SB900 and love it. It's just expensive. The Yongnuo does not feel as good quality as my Nikon and the Yongnuo feels bulky in my hand but for the price it works fine. So far I have just used it in my home studio wirelessly for a few commercial type shots and 1 portrait. It communicates wirelessly with the Yongnuo YN622 triggers I already had and I can adjust the power from the top of my camera which I love. I watched a few youtube videos and played around with the settings until I got what I wanted to achieve, then took a photo of the settings so I do not forget how I had it set up. I like it, but of course need a lot more time with it to see if I love it and how it really compares with my Nikon, because really thats what we all want to know in the long run.
Good alternative to Name brand
Have 5 of these now. Good alternatives to the name brands. Comparable features, work well.
A decent external flash & controller at a reasonable price.
This is the first external flash system I have bought for my Nikon D7200, and it does work - once you figure out the cryptic instructions. If you like saving money and don't mind reading ambiguous product manuals written in horrible English, then this Yongnuo speedlite and controller combination is just right for you! I probably will buy a second Yongnuo wireless speedlite when the need arises, just 'cause the price is right.
2nd one
Dumb me lost my first one, so I needed to purchase another one. I have used this model on my Canon 70D and also my Canon 5D mkIV. LOVE IT. Fast cycle times, lots of features and the ability to use satellites. I recommend
The Best

Great flash
Great flash for the money!! TTL makes it easy and also using it as a slave/off camera flash.
