Fun to Use, Good Bargain

I got this as a deal of the day, and I'm delighted with it. I use it on a small tripod for web conferencing, and attach it to my rig for shooting stills and videos. You can get a super wide array of looks and intensifies with this thing, and the app is a breeze to use, although you don't need the app to make it work. Note: You need a battery or power cord to use this, it does not come with either.

This rgb light works great, and includes a ton of features

I am loving this 5 x 7 rgb light. First, it is a great camera light. Super lightweight and super versatile with a wide variety of options to choose from. The 5 x 7 size is big enough to cast a nice soft light on the subject while mounted on the camera's cold shoe, but still small enough and lightweight enough to not get in the way or become a burden to carry. Just set it to the color temperature of the room, and you're good to go in a run and gun situation. It goes from 2800K and 8000K color temperature and the light intensity stays very consistent throughout the different temperatures which is fantastic. I also love that it has a 1/4-20 socket for mounting, so you can still put it on a light stand and use it as a regular light if you want to. And especially as an rgb light, for additional color in a scene. For a small fixture, it really puts out a surprisingly large amount of light. One feature I also really love is that you can use it in gel mode. With 48 different gels to choose from, you can dial it in as if you were placing these color-accurate colored gels to the front of the light. This is a fantastic feature that you don't generally see at this price point and is very helpful for a variety of reasons, including matching other lights in the room that might be using actual gels. It also has special lighting effects you can use, like tv, fire, police etc.. I don't use this very often in my work, but it is super handy when I do need it. And having that added functionality is a nice plus. The app was user friendly and easy to use. I love having the ability to adjust a light from a distance on an app. I like that it can run on Sony NP-F batteries, as these are affordable, and I already own a bunch of them for other things. So that is very convenient. Overall, I think this a fantastic, versatile light and I'm super impressed with all its features and lightweight package. Light as a feather!

First, I want to start with how lightweight this light is. Weighting on a scale, (I had to) the Sony battery alone is heavier than it (see pictures). This is very important when loading it on camera, especially mirrorless so they won't be too heavy, which will still allow handheld shots somewhat balanced. Brightness: tested at ISO 800, being the default sensor in most cameras today, it will do the job just fine. At 1 meter away, at 100%, from 4300K to 8000K, the exposure not only read F4.5, the exposure remains constant at F4.5! You won't have to adjust or have to compensate on camera unless of course you change the brightness or move the light closer or far from the original distance you began shooting. From 4200K to 2800, at 1 meter away, the exposure is F2.8 and 1/2. On RGB, most colors at 1 meter away will read F2.8.8, close to F4. Red and magenta will read about F2.0.9, almost F2.8 It also comes with some Gels for extra convenience. Most of us like to use wide apertures such as F2.8, 1.8 and even 1.4 for that shallow DOF. In that case, even filming a subject at longer distances, this little light will cover. When placing the light on camera, with a subject / someone in front, without any magic arms or anything that raises the light from the camera's shoe mount base, there will be no shadows. Same case goes for most lights placed directly on camera and this light is no exception. Another thing I appreciate is, this light when set to 1% is super dim, important if you're also using it for photography doing 30 second exposures, 1 minute, etc, or painting with light while the shutter is open. Many "on camera lights they are too bright at 10%, let alone at 1%... Light control: this light, without any grid or barn door will not spill light on the side (see pictures) The App: I also included a picture of what the App looks like in case you can't find. As soon as you download it and open it, the light connects instantly. No need to pair anything on your phone's settings. The App doesn't freeze or crash. It just works. With the App, you can also tweak a lot more including the 10 FX is has. The only thing I don't like about the App is, when setting brightness, color temp or any value, you can't do it "as you watch". The new values will only change / apply as soon as you release the finger from the screen. Maybe an update will change that. What I'd like to see is, to be able to see the values changing in real time as you slide the finger. Bottom line: It's extremely lightweight, bright enough, won't affect your camera exposure when varying color temperatures on most of it, plus it's got RGB and Gels. I'm happy with it. Sweet little powerful light

This light is very bright for its little size, has way more features than I need or will ever use yet still does the job I need it to do Okay perfectly well. It seems durable, feels good in the hand, looks great, and is predictable, which is what I need out of my LED light.

The right fit!

I love this light. I travel often, so I'm use to stuffing gear into a bag. I love how flat the light lays down, and fits into small spaces. I own a few luxli lights and the only difference is the build quality would be more durable on the luxli brand. I also love the built in shoe mount that the light features. I think this is great light for the price. (I received this item in exchange for my honest opinion)
