Use the lightweight Indie 7 RED RCP2 Monitor Kit from SmallHD to provide professional monitoring for your KOMODO or RED DSMC3 camera with a sharp 7" display suitable for indoor or outdoor use. The kit includes the Indie 7 monitor, an L-series battery plate, a micro-USB to 5-pin control cable, a cable adapter, a microfiber cleaning cloth, and the RED KOMODO/DSMC3 RCP2 camera control software upgrade.
The Cine 7 monitor supports up to UHD 4K30 HDMI input/output as well as up to 1080p60 via the SDI input/output. The RED control software loads onto the monitor and allows you to control RED camera functions via the RCP2 protocol such as run/stop, color and exposure controls, status, color temperature, video format, playback, shutter, menu control, and more, all via the Cine 7 touchscreen. The control cable and micro-USB-to-LEMO adapter allow the monitor to connect to the camera.
The lightweight INDIE 7 Touchscreen On-Camera Monitor from SmallHD provides professional monitoring in a sharp 7" IPS LCD with 1920 x 1200 resolution, 10-bit color processing, 1000 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, touchscreen control, and updated SmallHD PageOS 4 firmware. It features HDMI and 3G-SDI inputs and outputs, and it supports up to UHD 4K video input via HDMI.
The INDIE 7 is powered using the included L-series battery plate or using the 2mm barrel input with a DC adapter. It can also be powered using separately available Gold mount or V-mount battery plates. An SD card slot allows you to import custom 3D LUTs and a micro-USB port to provide upgrades to the display. Four 1/4"-20 threads allow you to mount the monitor in a variety of configurations. The 3.5mm headphone jack allows you to monitor the embedded audio from the HDMI or 3G-SDI inputs.
Using the intuitive SmallHD PageOS 4, you can turn on and save pages of various monitoring tools and focusing aids with a finger tap. It also features a settings dashboard, preconfigured pages and tabs, templates, exposure assist, overlays, function buttons, and numerous improvements, while maintaining all the features of its predecessor, OS3.

Made from a non-abrasive material, this Microfiber Cleaning Cloth from SmallHD is a safe option for cleaning glass surfaces and coatings on a monitor or camera. It measures approximately 7 x 7" and is easily stored in a bag or pocket when not in use.
Since SmallHD monitors can now display lens focus information with the latest OS3 upgrade, this Micro-USB to 5-Pin LEMO Adapter helps attach a Teradek RT lens controller to your monitor to map and display that information along with your camera's image.
The adapter features a micro-USB male connector that plugs directly into your monitor, and the female 5-pin LEMO adapter on the other end connects a separately available cable from a Teradek CTRL.1 or CTRL.3 lens controller. The port can also power the controller using 5V pass-through power from the micro-USB port. The adapter mounts directly onto your monitor using a 1/4"-20 thumbscrew, or it can mount onto a monitor cage.

Best for a frame reference.
Works great! Best bang for your buck if you're just looking for a frame reference monitor. I bought the Bolt 6 module to pair with this.
So far so good, gets hot...but is better than a loud fan.
So far this thing has been great. Not very happy that I need to pay extra for Red Komodo Control but I guess that makes sense. I power it with D-Tap off of a V-mount battery and I get about 2-3 hours of up time on the whole rig. (Camera & Monitor). Its defiantly gets hot...but that is better than a loud cooling fan
Major Integration Flaw For RED Komodo
I can't believe I haven't seen anyone else mention this. So when you're using the monitor you have to swipe back and forth between view pages, with one page being the regular SDI connection to the Komodo and another being the page for the RED Komodo Control. Each of these pages of course gives you the same video feed from the camera, but that's where the similarities stop. The regular SDI connection page gives you the video image from the Komodo, and all the SmallHD features like focus peaking, exposure assist, waveforms, etc., and they all work great, BUT it of course won't let you control things on the Komodo like ISO, Iris or anything else, since it is just a monitoring page. Now, the RED Komodo Control page will give you the video image from the Komodo, and lets you change all the camera settings like ISO, Iris, etc., BUT it doesn't give you access to all the great SmallHD features like focus peaking, exposure assist, waveforms, etc. If you want any of those types of features you have to use the much worse RED Komodo versions of them that are built into the camera, and the same ones you'd be able to use if you were just using the tiny LCD internal monitor on the top of the camera. HOWEVER they still require a bunch of menu clicks to get to, and toggle on or off, just as they would if you were using them on that tiny LCD screen. There aren't any quick button on/off shortcuts for them. Essentially there's no way to simultaneously use the excellent SmallHD monitor features like focus peaking, exposure assist, waveform, etc., while still being able to change things like ISO, Iris, Shutter on the camera. You'd basically have to keep the SmallHD set to the regular SDI connection page, and then manually change the ISO, Iris, etc., physically on the camera menu, or lens. And since the Komodo's version of false color is different than SmallHD's, there's no way to bounce back and forth between them and still trust consistency. On top of that, I don't think it's possible to control focusing on the RED Komodo Control page from the SmallHD monitor, like you can using the RED Control program on an iPad or phone. Overall, it seems like the iPad monitoring with the RED Control program might be the best value, especially considering that it comes with the camera. I just don't understand what SmallHD was thinking by not letting you integrate their monitor features into the feed from the RED Control connection. It just defeats the purpose, and they cancel each other out.
