HPRC HPRC2400 Reviews
I love HPRC cases. However, they can and do break!
Moving a load of household and camera gear in Oregon, I had several HPRC cases staked up in a van. I moved them a few times, the weight of a couple 2400s and lighter cases on top, and had a 2400 crake near the hinge near the left corner. I was disappointed and concerned ... for the future. I've spent a lot on HPRC Cases (more than 20 at this time). I realize all of the cool extruded design elements are at least in part, about structural integrity. However, HPRC cases are lighter than many of their competitors FOR A REASON. The result is, the may not be as strong as some of those heavier bricks we have become used to dragging around with us. Personally, I began using the colors of these nicely designed cases as a coding mechanism, to help me keep track of equipment on shoots. RED cases for lenses, Black with red handles - Audio, Dark Gray -stabilizers; Blue - motorized jibs, etc; Black - cameras; Yellow - Monitors, Black with Yellow handles - Wireless Video transmitters, and so on. NO OTHER company offers this diversity. So, it is sad to see that I will beed to baby these. I would now NEVER ship these, ... like they are indestructible! Just a word to the potential buyer.
Perfect fit for the camera (even with the battery grip on)!
I bought this case for my pocket 6K kit and have been extremely pleased with the quality of the build of the case and the laser cut foam inlay inside. It fits my pocket 6K (even with the battery grip still on the camera) as well as all my various batteries, cards, noga arm, cables and accessories and has been an excellent addition to my shoot kit. It looks very professional and it is solid and waterproof.
Protect your investment
You bought your M10 to use. Bring it with you everywhere. But on those rare occasions when it's not on your person, protect your investment from avoidable damage. I store my M10 and lenses in this case with ample desiccant to minimize fungus growth.
Does not fit 15 MacBook Pro
If you are buying this to carry your MacBook Pro 15, don't waste your time. The case itself is nice and I wish my machine would fit but, the only way this would work is if it sat on top of the small lip of foam that the computer is supposed to nestle into. Another week wasted as I'm going to have to return this one.
Shortcomings for this case
1. It has too many battery slots, generally un-needed power plug accessory slots, and only one lens slot. Since this case does not accept the camera with a lens mounted this is a major shortcoming. It could also do with a slot for a small battery charger. All in all it is not very useful!
HPRC2400 Case for Blackmagic Pocket 4K
I like it, as it has a place for most items that I would be bringing with me when using my Blackmagic Pocket 4K. After using it however I wish there had been room made to store at least one lens as you have to take it off to put the BMPCC into the case. That way I wouldn't have to lug around even more equipment cases. I still like it.
The classiest hard cases on the planet
Although HPRC's hard equipment cases are the classiest hard cases on the planet, they are also strong, light and just as important to me: color coded. Between the case colors and handle colors, I have managed to organize my gear by application. For example, yellow cases hold monitors, and black cases with yellow handles hold associated wireless video transmitters. The sky blue handles on black boxes like this one, remind me of electrical discharges. Hence all batteries are placed into these cases. Not only dos this help be recognize what is in a box 'at a glance,' but security is far easier, as I might have 20 boxes at a gig. It is also easy to recognize my brightly colored boxes vs. those of other shooters, as well as keep track/count of my gear also ' in a glance.' And as I said ... they are classy the usual sophisticated Italian flair in design : )! They are a bit more expensive then cheap ABS plastic boxes and some copy cat cases, but they are as strong as Pelican cases, and a lot lighter: due to intelligent, clever design. The bottom line is, HPRC cases only have one drawback: an unrecognizable BRAND name! Sorry amici, , ma cosa succede con il nome commerciale criptico?
Best Quality Case!
All HPRC cases are made with quality and are designed in Italy. They have protected my photo equipment over the years and the latches are secure and yet easy to open. I have several of these hard cases and can highly recommend them over any other brand. Do not hesitate to buy them if you need hard case protection.
