Kodak D-76 Overview
Kodak Professional D-76 is a classic black and white film developer offering fine grain results along with full film speed, high shadow detail, and normal contrast. This powdered developer contains enough chemistry to make 1 gal of working solution, which can be used straight or diluted 1:1 for increased sharpness with slightly more graininess. The developer's ability to produce a long tonal scale with low fog also benefits its use for push processing.

Kodak D-76 Reviews
A Classic
Now using D-76 with Arista Ultra 400 ASA film. A perfect combination
D-76 Still there after all these years. Go Kodak!
I started in B&W film photography in the '70s, with D-76 as my go-to developer (diluted 1:1) back then. It gave me excellent negatives. Later I switched to Kodak HC-110 (diluted 1:31), mainly for the convenience of doing small batches at irregular intervals. With HC-110 not available here anymore, I've chosen Kodak D-76 once again for any future fim developng for my T-Max films, after some 45 or so years. Still good!
The King!
I have been using this developer since 1973 and it is, by far my favorite soup. Works great with all films.
classic
good old D76, worked as expected
a step up for
I "graduated" to this from the Cinestill Monobath (df96) after it started acting inconsistent even in fresh batches. I still recommend it as a good entry point to development. I'm using this in the 1:1 (equal parts water and solution) dilution because it seems like a popular choice in the community and 1-shot (throw away after use) is easier than tracking roll counts for me. This is a powder concentrate, sort of like DF96, but it needs to be mixed with water at a specific temperature. I bought a cheap pot on Amazon because I didn't want to risk mixing chemicals in the same pot i make mac and cheese for my kids in.
D-76 enough said
most basic, D-76 has been a staple for years, room temp, push, develop times for every film
I like it and buy again
I like it and buy again + + + + +
been using Kodak Ti-x / D76 for a very long time.
Normally TX at iso16oo takes 18 minutes, now it takes that same 18minutes just to to develop it at iso 400! something is not right. I hope Kodak figures it out soon. I will not stop using it but getting back to normal would be nice.
