Distinguished as the world's first free-standing pop filter made to sit upon a desktop instead of being mounted on a stand, the Stedman Proscreen DT101 Desktop Metal Pop Filter yields excellent plosive control while maintaining high durability. In addition to the Proscreen DT101 being highly effective at blocking obtrusive vocal sound such as popping Ps and Bs, it boasts a strong metal filter which can be easily cleaned with dish soap and hot water for between-session sanitation. The flexible gooseneck is covered in a heavy-duty vinyl shrink material for protection and minimal noise when making adjustments, and both the filter and weighted base are finished in a rugged powder coating to last a lifetime of recording sessions.
Unique Freestanding Design
The Proscreen DT101 is the first ever pop filter designed to stand its own rather than being mounted onto a boom arm or mic stand. The 1/4" thick steel base is fully weighted making it reliable to use on a desktop or table. This design can be quite useful for podcasters, streamers, and content creators, providing a quality pop filter that can be setup, moved, or put away more quickly and easily than nearly any stand-mounted filter.
The DT101 uses a metal pop filter, rather than the more common fabric material used in many filters. This has the advantage of redirecting airflow downward away from the microphone capsule, instead of simply diffusing bursts like fabric filters. Even very close vocal work will not allow popping or plosives (such as P's or B's) to reach the mic, and the large openings in the metal screen allow vocal sound to pass through unobstructed and uncolored, preserving critical detail.
The Proscreen DT101 filter material and high-strength steel base are finished with a durable powder coating that will last for a lifetime of recording sessions and as a result, the filter comes with a lifetime warranty like all Stedman products.
