Lilliput BM280 Overview
Built into a hard case, the Lilliput BM280-4K is a 28" native UHD 4K monitor useful for both studio and field situations. The full capacity of the 3840 x 2160 UHD resolution 10-bit IPS panel can be driven at up to 30 fps by any of the three HDMI 1.4 inputs, or up to 60 fps by the single HDMI 2.0 input. Other inputs available on the back panel for HD and VESA sources include 3G-SDI (with a loop-through output), DVI, and VGA. Video signals input via any of these ports will be properly scaled to fit the entire screen. Analog audio from the RCA inputs or embedded digital audio from video inputs can be heard using the monitor's built-in speakers or the 3.5mm headphone output.
For power, this monitor accepts a wide range of voltages ranging from 12 to 24 VDC. In the studio, the included power supply plugs the BM280-4K into the wall, and the 75/100mm VESA mount can be utilized for mounting on a stand. The included tally connector passes tally information through to the monitor when connected to a switcher. While in the field, the monitor will accept battery power via the built-in Gold mount plate. It can be stood up vertically using the rubber feet built into the monitor's hard case, and a sunshade is included for increased visibility outdoors.

Lilliput BM280 Reviews
Pretty good!
Although it is quite heavy with the suitcase I still appreciate that's been included. The display is decent and the colors pretty close to what my camera(s) where showing. SDI input does not receive 4k only HD but apart from that it's a very good product for the price.
So many features for a good price.
Really like the monitor and all the ways I can use it on site, multi input quad split is really helpful! The case is not the best, but way better than buying another case or leaving it in cardborad on your trucks.
Not what was expected for the price.
This monitor is ok. For the $1000.00 price tag, I expected a lot more. We are using it for a final output monitor coming off of a recording deck. I got this monitor because I really wanted a full 4K monitor that had SDI input and passthrough. Unfortunately, the SDI is not 4k compatible so you have to use HDMI. This isn't stated anywhere that I could find in the description or in the manual. I only found this out through troubleshooting. SDI will take an HD single but not 4K. that being said, the picture of the monitor is good but expect to have to manually set the colors.
Good reference, but color adjustment...
4K it's not enough when the image adjustment is not good enough. I wish the color and contrast could be as solid as its body.
4K ref monitor
perfect 4k ref monitor
Good director's monitor
We received this monitor as I've read a lot of info about it, we needed a monitor that a Director can use to view the cameras' screen without hovering around them. As we shoot a lot of times with more than 1 camera, carrying 2-4 monitors to locations is always a pain, not to mention the problem of uneven screen/color/look (even if they are same brand, same model, you may have a slight discrepancy on color/tone). When I found out this monitor, which is 4K and can split into 4 screens at the same time (which makes each screen about 13), we decided to jump into getting now. Already thinking of getting another one as well. lol NOTE: This is NOT a production monitor, but a viewing monitor for directors, you can also use it as a monitor for video editing and use a calibration software to calibrate the color but it is NEVER being considered as a calibrated production monitor. (Some DP was complaining of the colors, but this isn't for color, more for the Director/AD to see what's showing on camera or in case a boom mic or two appears on the shot. I'll try to give more info: Pros: - 28 4k - 4 split screens at same time (with 4 HDMI input) @ 4K resolution - V-Mount battery compatible - Enclosed in a strong case - Ability to switch between 1 screen, 2 screen, 4 screen or PnP. - Reasonably priced - Vibrant color / Saturation - VESA mountable (but you have to take the case off) - Many options to get into - Come with a 28 sunshade (big) Cons: - 52lbs (heavy) - Slow switching between screens (from full screen to 4 screens, a slight delay that sometimes gets annoying) - Locking mechanism of the case can be better, it takes about 3-5 mins to rightly lock or unlock the cover so you can start using it. We used it on a film shoot recently, we had 2 Gh4 camera HDMI out in 4K, what we discovered is if you are using HDMI cables that are NOT 4k capable, and they are over 30' long (ours were 50'), you WILL have some 'flickering' issue when both 4K signals are transmitted, so best is to either; set your camera to output 1080 or buy 50' or 100' long HDMI cables that are 4K capable. We did experience the slow switching from one screen to split screens, the delays is less than 1 min but it felt a bit too long at times. Luckily Lilliput said they are planning to be able to allow users to upgrade the firmware themselves down the road (right now you may have to send it back) We really love how we can watch two cameras' screens in one monitor and can be able to adjust the set accordingly. The monitor also have an audio port for headphone, we didn't use that since we were monitoring audio recorded with our Tascam Dr-70d. We haven't try it out with the V-Mount batteries, but we believed one of those 160WH would gives about 45mins to an hour of battery life. So you may need about 3-4 on set. While using it as a computer editing monitor, we used as a full screen display for Premiere (so it would show how it most likely look like on TV, not as a calibrated production screen) - We did calibrated with Spyder 5 Pro and matched the color with the rest of the 3 monitors. We will be getting another one for our feature films shoot. As we will be using two units to speed up the filming schedule. Overall, we believe this is a great tool for directors who wants to view footage on location.
Excellent Monitor Great Features
Monitor is Excellent, looks amazing. the road case it comes in is a bit heavy but it's seams very well protected.
Worth the investment
This is the first truly high end broadcast monitor that I have invested in and I was nervous it would not be worth the money. It is superb and worth every penny. It immediately improved our daily broadcasts. Easy set up. Love the traveling case, variability of port access, ability to mount to a C-stand, and light cover.
