Vello ShutterBoss 4 Delight
Purchased a Vello ShutterBoss 4 from . Planning to use it for astrophotography and regular daytime photo/videography with using a Sony A7SIII. Dealing with is always a delight, quick purchase procedures and delivery as usual. Setting up and testing the Vello ShutterBoss 4 were as easy as it gets. Did a quick 50x30 sec exposure , 5 sec interval (with a 5 sec delay start) and worked flawless. I never used an intervalometer, but this one is a winner for me at least.
Works better than expected.
Only tried it a couple times seem to function exceptionally well. I had cheaper models I wasn't pleased with. Time will tell.
Magic!
It is so nice when something works out of the box exactly the way you hoped it would. I charged my batteries, plugged the Vello into my R5 then bam. It worked. And it worked from, across the room and across the yard. Haven't begun trying the additional release options. I just needed a remote with good range. Those who ask why not use the Canon Wireless App on my phone? I have been using that for years - before my R5. It works nicely - when it works. But all too often in the field, when I needed something reliable in a pinch, I got out the wired cable release. Problem is the cable gets in the way and is too short. Vello rocks!

Three defective units out of four!
(Continued from before...) We finally received yet another unit which Vello had send us, and it is also defective. We wanted TWO of these and bought four and yet we were not able to receive two which work like they should. (read our other reviews for more details) Vello's fault for not communicating situation properly with .

I used this for self portraits in different farm locations. It worked from 20 feet away to 50 yards away without any problems. Great remote trigger.
