With a compact form and smooth tone, the Sony ECM-673 shotgun microphone offers strong, clean output signal for event video shoots, indie film production, TV and documentary shooting, court room depositions, and more. Plus, its 7.9" long body is short enough to be placed atop a camera while maintaining focused directional behavior and keeping out of the camera's view.

The ECM-673 features a supercardioid polar pattern for excellent directivity and minimal noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule, resulting in intelligible voice pickup even in noisy environments. The microphone's wide, flat frequency response yields natural, accurate signal reproduction with crisp detail and minimal coloration.

The ECM-673 runs on 40 to 52 VDC phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders. It includes microphone spacers and a mic holder to accommodate camera-mount and stand-mount configurations.

Lightweight Design The ECM-673 has been designed as a highly directional, compact, and lightweight shotgun microphone, measuring 7.9" in length and weighing just 4.8 ounces to ensure good balance even when mounted on compact camcorders. Smooth Frequency Response With its flat and wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, the ECM-673 provides sound reproduction that is smooth and natural. High Sensitivity The ECM-673 offers an excellent sensitivity of -36 dB and low self-noise level of less than 17 dB SPL, allowing the microphone to be used for clear voice capture even in noisy environments. Onboard Low-Cut Filter The onboard two-position (M, V) low-cut switch provides users with a simple method of reducing the effects of undesired ambient noise such as rumble. Phantom Powered The ECM-673 can be driven by 40 to 52 VDC phantom power for consistent, battery-free operation with professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders. High Durability and Reliability The vibration-resistant mechanism of the ECM-673 offers high durability and reliability, making it suitable for the harsh environments that can be encountered in field recording. Included Accessories The ECM-673 is supplied with a windscreen that attenuates wind noise by approximately 5 dB, a short XLR cable, a microphone holder (for use on a mic stand), two stand adapters, a molded-type microphone spacer, and a sheet-type microphone spacer.
