Providing a compact form factor with an ultra-wide field of view, the Nikon F-mount Laowa 14mm f/4 Zero-D Lens from Venus Optics is a stylish prime lens with distinctly low distortion to suit interior, architecture, astrophotography, nature, and landscape applications. The broad 114° angle of view is aided by an advanced optical design, which includes aspherical and extra-low dispersion elements, to realize well-corrected, sharp, and color-accurate imagery. The lens has a manual focus design and permits working with subjects as close as 5.7" away and its petal-shaped hood helps to block stray light from causing unwanted lens flare. Additionally, the lens's focusing scale is adjustable for users to fine tune its working distance according to the deviation of the flange range of their own cameras.
Low-Dispersion and Aspherical Elements
The 14mm f/4 is specially pioneered for full frame DSLR cameras. With 114° ultra wide angle of view, it provides an extra room and a special perspective for photography enthusiasts for their creation. The newly developed 13 elements in 8 groups optical design with 2 Extra-low dispersion elements and 2 pieces of aspherical glasses to eliminate the color fringing. This design greatly improves the clarity, including the image quality from corner to corner.
Zero-D Optics
The lens inherits the Zero-D (close to zero-distortion) features that many Laowa lenses have, which saves much time and cost of post-production. Taking the advantage of this feature, no matter landscape or architecture, this lens fulfills your needs.
Close Focusing Distance
The shortest minimum focusing distance of Laowa 14mm f/4 Zero-D is 5.7" from the sensor. Creating dreamy bokeh is no longer a challenge. Moreover, designed with 114° super wide angle of view, the lens can be used as a mini macro which is capable of creating exaggerated close-up images with much information at the background.
Aperture Coupling
Provides aperture coupling which records the aperture value in the camera.
5 Aperture Blades and 10 Point Sun Stars
The 5-blade aperture renders stunning 10-points sun stars when you step down the aperture.
Calibration System
A focusing scale adjustment system allows easy focus calibration for your camera. This makes it helpful in shooting in the field, especially in astrophotography.
