Drawmer MC1.1 Desktop Monitor Preamp

Building upon the success of the MC2.1 studio monitor controller, the MC1.1 Monitor Preamp from Drawmer is a monitor controller and preamp unit that is ideal for smaller post-production setups where many speakers are not needed or available, as well as hi-fi and home theatre systems. You can choose between three input sources (XLR/1/4" balanced, RCA phono, and 3.5mm aux) and two XLR speaker outputs, and mono/sub output is provided for subwoofers, as well as a dedicated 1/4" headphone output.

The MC1.1 features a new RIAA input stage that lets you switch from a line-level input to an RIAA EQ curve and input level, ideal for getting the absolute most out of your vinyl records. The MC1.1 also sports two large, independent volume knobs with paralleled custom quad pots, excellent channel matching, and a smooth feel. The rugged steel and aluminum chassis can be stacked for larger setups, or rack mounted with the optional MCB 2U mounting kit, and the MC1.1 includes an AC power cord for immediate use.

The MC1.1 sports a new RIAA phono input stage for full compatibility with RIAA equalization, which is used to get the most space out of phonograph records without sacrificing audio fidelity. In the old days, most amplifiers and preamplifiers featured phono cartridge preamps with the RIAA curve to ensure universal reproduction of the full fidelity of the original vinyl masters, but as vinyl records have become less common, many modern hi-fi devices omit this technology, producing undesirable audio quality on vinyl playback that often over-emphasizes the high frequencies.

The MC1.1 includes an RIAA input preamp so that your records shine in their true, original fidelity. Simply push the RIAA button in to switch from traditional line input levels to the RIAA curve, and enjoy your records in maximum quality with your hi-fi system. The ultralow noise, transparent circuit design, and low-hum toroidal transformer will also help to ensure you get the cleanest possible signal without sacrificing any of that signature vinyl warmth.

While you can easily stack your MC1.1 preamp controllers for larger setups, you can also rack mount the monitor controller with the 2 RU MCB Rack Mounting Kit to keep your work desk or hi-fi cabinet clean and clear. The MCB Rack Mounting Kit contains two side panels/ears, a front facia, and also a lead that brings the AUX input from the back of the MC1.1 to the front panel for easy access. The kit also includes all the necessary screws, an assembly instruction manual, and an Allen key.
