Ocean Way Audio HR4S Overview
The Ocean Way Audio HR4S is a 950W, single-channel, active, three-way reference speaker designed to provide highly accurate monitoring, with the HR4 two-way monitor providing 100° horizontal dispersion for an ultrawide sweet spot, while the included S12A subwoofer extends the low-end range. The system delivers a 25 Hz to 25 kHz frequency response for use in professional recording studios and listening environments for production, mixing, and mastering applications. The exceptionally wide horizontal coverage also makes the HR4S well suited for presentations and educational applications where highly accurate monitoring is necessary.
The Ocean Way Audio HR4 is a single, active two-way reference speaker designed to provide highly accurate monitoring with 100° horizontal dispersion for an ultrawide sweet spot, making it well suited for use in professional recording studios and listening environments for production, mixing, and mastering applications. The HR4 provides precise imaging over a wide 35 Hz to 25 kHz frequency range.
A unique dual/hybrid waveguide system based on the speakers at Ocean Way Recording and engineered using 3D modeling ensures accurate, wide-frequency dispersion over a remarkable 100 x 40° pattern. In the mixing environment, this ensures consistent stereo imaging and accurate tonal qualities and balance throughout the room, not just in the ideal mixing position between two monitors.
A 125W amp powers the 8" geometrically reinforced aluminum cone low-frequency driver. The high frequencies are handled by a 1" silk dome tweeter powered by a second 125W amp. With a 116 dB maximum output level, the HR4 delivers plenty of power for loud mixing sessions. XLR analog and digital inputs are provided and the speaker supports resolutions up to 24-bit / 192 kHz.

Well suited for studio, cinema, and home use, the Ocean Way S12A Mk III is an active 700W subwoofer with a 12" long-throw woofer that pairs well with a wide variety of studio monitors and powerful home speaker systems. Designed by Grammy-winning audio guru Allen Sides, the speaker's cabinet is designed for an extended bass frequency response from 125 Hz down to 30 Hz, with an adjustable crossover ranging from 120 to 60 Hz. The LF Adjust control provides a 45 Hz shelving EQ with up to 5 dB of boost/cut available to fine-tune the response. The rear-ported cabinet enclosure delivers a maximum peak level up to 114 dB.
The speaker features a pair of balanced XLR inputs and a pair of balanced XLR feed-through outputs. A delay control allows you to time-align the S12A Mk III with other components by dialing in up to 20 ms of delay. The back panel also features 12V trigger controls for auto-powering.
