The pair of MVA520W-1 11.8'' SYMPLA Rods from Manfrotto are one of the basic building blocks of all SYMPLA rigs. The rods are always used in parallel pairs to create a track which allows components to be mounted and positioned correctly.
The rods can be united to make longer tracks (using the included screw junctions), joined at different heights using the V-Offset component (sold separately), or shifted laterally using the H-Offset component (sold separately). Although the possible uses are numerous, these long rods primarily serve as the track for SYMPLA Fixed or Variable Plates, since the extra length allows a wide range of camera and lens (and viewfinder) combinations to be correctly positioned for the operator and for other SYMPLA components, such as the Flexible Mattebox.
