SmallRig 3195 Overview
This lightweight aluminum Camera Cage from SmallRig protects and provides accessory mounting for your Nikon Z9 camera. This formfitting cage maintains access to the camera's controls, battery, and SD card slot, and it features a variety of mounting options. The camera secures into the cage using three screw points to prevent twisting, and rubber padding on the base protects and further secures the camera.
In addition to one shoe mount and multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 accessory threads, the cage incorporates ARRI-style locating holes for preventing accessories from twisting when mounted. The cage also has a built-in Arca-type quick release plate on the bottom for tripod mounting.

Cheap Cage is Cheap

The cage is secured at the top with a single M2.5 screw to a single point on the Z9, the steel part where the strap eyelet attaches. The problem is that if the M2.5 thread strips, which it did on my cage, the entire cage flexes. I wouldn't recommend this cage if you decide to put a monitor with any weight (even 5 inch or 7 inch) onto it. Be extremely careful with the M2.5 screw.
