Mobile and ready for travel, this P2P Interview System with 2 x 15" Teleprompters and HDMI Cables with Rolling Cases from ikan allows you to create a natural one-on-one interview with both the subject and interviewer able to look at each other, and the audience, square in the eye. Each system fits neatly in the included rolling case, using the custom-cut foam that protects it during transport and storage. The prompters are easy to set up with 70/30 beamsplitter glass that folds down for storage and height and balance adjustments to accommodate most cameras.

The system allows you to set up the prompters on your cameras and tripods (not included), so that instead of words being read, the interviewer's image appears on the prompter that the subject is looking directly into, and the subject's image appears on the interviewer's prompter. This provides a more direct connection between interviewer and subject, focusing their attention on each other as opposed to interviews where the subject is looking off to the side of the camera and not making a good connection with your audience. In addition, with this system, you are free to set up each person separately, as they no longer have to be facing each other, or even in the same room.
The included prompters are designed for both location and studio work; they are lightweight, and quick to set up. Compatible with almost any camcorder that has a flat base or DSLR/mirrorless cameras, using the included risers. The PT3500 is a flexible system with a wide viewing screen. The hardware mounts on included 15mm rods, which allow the monitor, the prompter's beamsplitter glass, and the camera baseplate to be set up quickly, without requiring tools. Each component can easily be moved individually to adjust for different setups. To accommodate cameras with different heights, ikan includes 3, 5, and 8" height-adjustment rods for mounting the baseplate.

The PT-CASE Rolling Hard Case from ikan is an air- and water-tight hard transport and storage case for the ikan PT3500 and PT3700 teleprompters. It's made of heavy-duty, impact-resistant plastic, and has wide wheels and rubber tires providing for stability. It has a pullout handle on top for rolling it, a built-in handle on top, and another built-in handle on the side. It also has a slot for an optional lock. This case is designed to be used with the foam that's included with the PT3500 and PT3700 prompters.

Teleprompter works great and is easy to set up. The PT3500 ships mostly assembled and arrived at my door safely. The shipping foam in the box is also designed to fit a specific SKB case - That's a big plus if you're going to travel with it. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase.
A Well Built Teleprompter
I'm impressed with the engineering of this teleprompter. Adjustments are well thought out and work well. I'm using it with a Canon EOS-R on top of a Beachtek audio interface. Works great. I have no problems with their teleprompter application. It works well.
Hardware great; forget bundled software.
The IKAN PT3500 is a solidly-built unit that looks like it will last for years. The case is well designed, and meant to travel with the silvered mirror in place (I have yet to try this, makes me nervous, frankly). Image quality is good, just a little light loss as expected. No internal reflections due to 100% coverage with nylon zipper enclosure. ?Relatively easy to set up (allow 15 minutes).? Front-back position of the camera is simple to adjust, but camera height has only a few positions. ?Monitor is the true outstanding feature - image quality is nice and bright and it has a dedicated button to flip left-right, so you don't have to depend on software to do the flipping. We're using this in a small studio for recording on-line courses, and this feature allows the presenter to see her Powerpoint slides directly from her laptop, no external "flip-box" needed. This will also enable remote interviews by Skype, etc. with screen sharing - this is a big plus, very few other prompters <$2000 have this. ?On top of that, having an HDMI input is a real plus.? On the downside, the bundled software is not fully integrated with the product. It is an old version, delivered very unprofessionally on a home-made CD-ROM (see user photo). ?I couldn't get it to install on either Mac or Windows. ?The version included, Ver 3, is no longer supported, but when I downloaded the latest version from the developers, the serial number provided didn't "take". ? I filed a ticket with B & H customer support, and this is the response I got from JakeB: "It has been brought to my attention you had placed an order for the Ikan kit which included the Pro3 software. You have been in contact with Larry on this just about an hour ago to see if possible to obtain the Pro4 software. Please be advised that this item is including only the Pro3 software at this time according to the manufacturer and according to our product page. Although this software is now considered dated, that is what we list per the manufacturer to be included. Should you wish to have the Pro4 software, it would need to be purchased separately." Luckily, I did reach out to the software developer, and they were kind enough to honor the serial number with the new, downloadable version of the software and I didn't have to buy it separately. ?Unfortunately, though I appreciate the manufacturer honoring the purchase, I found that the Pro4 software is difficult to use. For example, I couldn't figure out how to get the talent to see a dedicated window with just the prompt text while the operator sees the prompt control screen.? My philosophy is that prompters are supposed to solve problems, not make problems. I spent a lot of time testing the prompter and trying to solve the software issues, but as you can see from the response quoted above, there was absolutely no help at all from customer support. Thus the three stars. I ended up buying *not from * a professional 3rd party software, so if you're considering this teleprompter, my advice would be to add $250+ to your budget for software so you can actually use it!
