iFootage Gazelle Series Tripod Legs Overview
Designed for both video and still photo capture, the TC5S Gazelle Uprise Tripod from iFootage is a lightweight, versatile three-stage carbon fiber tripod supporting up to 13.2 lb. Topped with a swiveling flat base with 3/8"-16 threaded stud and improved locking mechanism, this tripod features a detachable center column with a new release mechanism from the previous model, for extremely low-to-the-ground shots. It also features independent leg spread with three locking positions and a folded length of under 21" that is perfect for travel.
Additional Gazelle TC5S features include ergonomic leg locks that allow for single-handed use, spiked feet with retractable rubber pads, a 3/8"-16 accessory mount, a weight hook, and a 3/8"-16 camera screw. Remove the center column to lower the tripod to 6.9", or extend all three stages to rise to 59". The included Allen wrench can be used to adjust the leg locks, and it snaps onto a leg for storage.

Carry on Bag restrictions (in Canada)
Carry on bag restrictions in Canada are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches. This tripod is 20.5 inches so it should be no problems to bring it with you.
Expectations met.
I was looking for a tripod that I could bring on an upcoming hike. I needed something light, but solid enough to hold a fluid head and Lumix S1. The price seemed steep at first, but upon arrival I realized just how quality of a product this is. Everything is build out of premium material, feels super solid, and truly has ever function I would need. The ball head, low angle setting, and reversible mounting positions mean this opened up new avenues of creativity. Very pleased.
Really solid, light, but not compact enough
There's really one main reason to buy a compact tripod: to be able to carry it on a plane. If you're checking a bag or driving, your better off with a larger tripod. Unfortunately this tripod is about 1 inch too long to fit in a regulation size carry-on bag. I don't know why iFootage didn't think of this. I had high hopes and see this as a big missed opportunity. I'm back to my Benro which feels less solid but fits in a carry on bag.
