The 3 x 12AX7 tube gain stage, in concert with the passive Baxandall bass and treble controls, and active tube-driven mid-EQ control, delivers tone like only an authentic tube preamp amp can. Studio-Quality Compressor

The studio-grade optical compressor is based on classic and famous studio equipment from the '70s. This totally transparent and musical compressor design allows your full dynamic range to shine through until your signal reaches the compression threshold, which is indicated by the highly visible status LED.

The compressor increases sustain and gently smooths out signal peaks, especially handy when you�re laying down the funk, such as slap and pop techniques, or when you're hammering home your most-aggressive metal lines. The resulting output level lets you unleash powerful and impact-laden bass lines, while still sitting right where you need to be in the mix.

Dynamizer Technology

A secret technique when mixing audio is known as parallel compression (or New York compression), which mixes an unprocessed dry signal with a heavily compression wet signal. This brings up the softest sounds to add audible detail instead of bringing down the highest peaks (as usually occurs with compression).

Now, this technology is available to you right in your bass amp through Dynamizer technology. By working directly with the amplifier circuitry, Dynamizer tech adds detail and a fat punch, whether playing very softly or extremely loud. This allows you to take full advantage of every watt available to you.

Tonal Flexibility

The passive bass and treble Baxandall EQ circuit provides the sound and feel of traditional tube amps. The active tube-driven mid control, working in tandem with a sophisticated 3-position mid-frequency switch, helps you easily dial in any tone you can imagine. A handy Mute switch allows you to tune up silently. And the -15 dB input switch enables you to jump between passive and active basses in a flash.
