The 1.25" AstroMaster Accessory Kit from Celestron features a selection of useful additions to your kit that will enhance your observational experiences. The two eyepieces produce medium and high magnifications in most telescopes, and the Barlow lens doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used with it - essentially doubling your inventory of eyepieces. Two of the most popular colored planetary filters, Red and Blue, can be used to enhance and highlight specific areas on Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, Mercury, Venus, and Saturn, as well as comets. For safe viewing of our closest celestial object, a Moon filter is also included with reduces glare and enhances contrast on the surface. To hold all these accessories is a hard plastic case with a custom-cut foam lining.
- Eyepieces
-
- 1.25" diameter barrels
- Anti-reflection fully multi-coated to improve light transmission, color rendition, contrast and sharpness
- 15mm Kellner offers a medium magnification potential on most OTAs
- 6mm Plossl produces high-magnification
- Barlow Lens
-
- 1.25" diameter barrel and eyepiece holder
- 2x magnification doubles the magnification of any eyepiece used
- Increases magnification while preserving eyepiece's native eye relief for easier viewing at high magnifications
- Built-in T-thread accepts optional camera-specific T-ring for high-magnification astrophotography/imaging
- Filters
-
- Tinted glass lenses ensure longevity
- Anti-reflection coated to prevent glaring and ghosting
- 1.25" diameter to fit most standard 1.25" eyepieces
- Threads allow filter stacking
- #80A Blue:
- Light blue with 30% transmittance
- Most popular for the study of detail on Jupiter and Saturn
- Enhances the contrast on Jupiter's cloud belts
- Enhances details of the Great Red Spot
- Brings out detail in Saturn's belts and polar features
- Improves observation of Mercury's dusky surface markings at twilight, when it is near the horizon
- Useful for increasing the contrast of dark shadings in upper Venusian clouds
- Brings out the best definition in comet gas tails
- Also very useful for lunar observing
- #25 Red:
- Blocks the transmission of blue and green wavelengths
- Sharply defines the contrast between the cloud formations and the lighter-toned surface features on Jupiter
- Useful for definition of the Martian polar ice caps and maria, and sharpens the boundaries of yellow dust clouds
- Improves observation of Mercury at twilight, when the planet is near the horizon; reduces the brightness of the blue sky to enhance surface features when viewing during the day
- Useful for studying bluer clouds on Saturn
- Use during daylight observations of Venus to reduce brightness of blue sky; can make deformations of the terminator visible
- Moon:
- 21mm clear aperture
- 18% transmittance reduces glare to bring out more surface detail and improve contrast
- Makes viewing the Moon safe when at or near full phase
- Also useful to bring out surface details on Venus
