FLM Atlas Overview
The Atlas 42-S2 Tripod with 75mm Half Ball Leveler and Quick Release Clamp from FLM combines the robust 42-S2 Carbon Fiber Tripod with the HB-75 Half Ball Leveler to create a support system with a low center of gravity that sets up quickly and easily. The half ball leveler provides up to 15° of shift in any direction and is topped off with an Arca-type quick release receiver clamp providing a direct camera-to-tripod connection.
One of FLM's toughest and sturdiest tripods, the Atlas 42-S2 Carbon Fiber Tripod features two sections, with 1.5" carbon fiber tubes on the top section and 1.7" on the bottom. It comes with a flat plate with a 3/8"-16 mounting screw and supports up to 132 lb. The maximum working height is 53.4". Thanks to a reverse leg design, the minimum height is a very low 4.3". The tripod has rubber and spiked feet.
With the included flat plate removed, the apex supports optional 100 and 75mm FLM bowl adapters (CC-100 or CC-75). The apex has a safety catch and a quick lock system that secures the adapter in place.
The FLM HB-75 Half Ball Leveler for CP34 and CP38 Tripod Legs is a 75mm half-ball adapter that allows you to use select flat base tripod heads on legs with a 75mm half ball. The adapter is compact and has a small handle, and this allows you to quickly level your flat base head on CP34 or CP38 tripod legs, as well as third-party tripod legs, gaining for you all the benefits of a half-ball system without having to source a new tripod head. The half ball allows up to 15° of leveling adjustment in any direction, making it very quick to level your head without having to make leg adjustments.
The top platform of the half ball, where the head mounts, is covered in a composite of natural cork and rubber. This helps minimize vibration, while making the cushion less susceptible to the effects of humidity and weather. The half-ball adapter incorporates a 3/8"-16 screw that allows you to mount a flat base tripod head with a 3/8"-16 threaded mount. Three included set screws help secure your head on the adapter and prevent it from spinning and coming loose from the adapter.
The QLB-80 Quick Release Clamp by FLM is a heavy-duty open-channel Arca-style lever clamp for different-sized quick release plates. It has a safety pin so the plates will not slide out of the clamp when loose. Built-in bubble levels help align your camera vertically and horizontally.
