With its variable leg angles, you can splay the legs completely out to have a minimum height of 3", so you are able to shoot very close to the ground for macro photography. When not in use, the 2.47 lb tripod, which has a load capacity of 35.2 lb, folds to a length of 18.25", making it easy for travel or storage. The rubber feet are removable and can be replaced with spiked feet for icy and uneven terrain.
