HighPoint 6618V Overview
Designed for individuals, media professionals, and SMBs, the RS6618V 8-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure from HighPoint is an expandable, high-density storage solution that can be integrated into most Thunderbolt 3 and Thunderbolt 4 computing platforms. It features an aluminum frame and paneling to reduce weight and maximize heat and has a frame-mounted carrying handle for portability. The RS6618V has 8 x 3.5/2.5" drive bays that support both SAS-3 12 Gb/s and SATA III 6 Gb/s drives and may be configured as RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, and JBOD, each of which provides performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. Compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows, Mac, and Linux, it connects to your host system using a 40 Gb/s Thunderbolt 3 port. A second Thunderbolt 3 port allows up to six Thunderbolt devices to be daisy chained together and there is also a 100Mb RJ45 Ethernet port for viewing the RS6618V's status.

The ruggedly constructed enclosures utilize a compact tower form factor comprised of a robust, cold-rolled steel core supplemented by an aluminum outer framework and paneling to reduce weight and maximize heat dissipation. RAID & Storage Technology
RocketStor 661x Thunderbolt 3 RAID enclosures are powered by HighPoint's RAID & Storage technology and are capable of supporting one more RAID 0, 1, 5,10, and 50 arrays, JBOD configurations, and single drives. RocketStor 661x series enclosures support Online Array Roaming, which simplifies storage upgrade and replacement. In addition, RocketStor 661x enclosures are also capable of recognizing arrays created with other HighPoint series products, even if drives are moved to different bays/ports.

Unlike client-grades solutions, which typically employ a one-size-fits all approach to RAID recovery (regardless of the storage media or configuration), RocketStor RAID enclosures will dynamically adjust each recovery session to correspond with the specific fault or disk-related failure responsible for the break. The RocketStor driver was engineered to zero in on the problem areas, and will restrict activity to these particular sectors.
