The Hohem iSteady V2, in white, is a 3-axis smartphone gimbal stabilizer designed to perform automatic face tracking without any app required. Normally, smart tracking is set up in an app by designating what should be tracked. But the iSteady V2 has an AI sensor built into the gimbal itself, right next to the smartphone clamp. Set the gimbal down on the included mini tripod and turn on the AI sensor by pressing a button on the gimbal. Whenever you're ready for auto-tracking to begin, just display the appropriate hand gesture to the gimbal, and it will start following you along its three axes as you move about in front of it. This feature is useful for live streaming, video calls, vlogging, and creative and commercial productions. The gimbal will track the face of the person who displayed the hand gesture, even if someone else comes into the shot. When you want it to stop tracking, just show another hand gesture.
Although an iOS/Android app is included for special features such as dolly zoom and time-lapse capture, it is not needed for setting up smart tracking. The benefit of this type of tracking as opposed to app-required tracking is that your phone will be free to use a live streaming app, such as Zoom or Skype, since it will not be occupied by a gimbal app.
The iSteady V2 gimbal moves almost full-circle 320° along the pan, tilt, and roll axes. Whether you're using the smart tracking feature or manually controlling the gimbal via the onboard joystick, it will stabilize the movements along these axes to deliver smooth, steady, professional-looking shots. The adjustable phone clamp fits up to 3.5" wide smartphones, supporting virtually all popular phones, such as the iPhone 12 Pro Max. An LED light is also built-in next to the phone clamp for lighting up your subjects. The light is adjustable between three brightness levels to bring out skin tones in different scenarios.
The gimbal has a folding design that allows for easy storage in your bag. The top part folds over the ergonomic textured grip handle, bringing the gimbal to about half its length. A 1/4"-20 mounting thread is provided on the bottom for attaching the supplied mini tripod, which can be used as a stand or as an additional handgrip.

PIECE OF JUNK
run, do not walk from this product. nothing about it is good. Mine broke after a few uses. terrible support.
Stabilization Problems
The unit that I purchased frequently failed to horizontally stabilize. After verifying the correct balancing of a Galaxy S21 smart phone and calibrating, over a several second period, the gimbal rotationally drifted to approximately 10 degrees from horizontal. This was experienced using the Hohem app. Turing the gimbal and camera off/on and recalibrating did not correct this condition. When it worked properly, I was pleased with the performance including the AI Visual Tracking. I also had the Hohem 3-in-1 Extension. It worked as described and I liked the ability to use the bluetooth controller to operate the gimbal remotely. It's a good gimbal for the price if you get one that does not have stabilization problems.
Its fine I guess
I had another Hohem gimbal for my gopro it was very nice and great quality so I was excited to buy another Hohem. this one is fine compared to others I guess. I was hoping for a nicer piece of equipment that's for sure.
