Kanguru UltraLock M.2 Overview
Built with a lightweight design that makes it easy to take almost anywhere, the 1TB UltraLock USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 NVMe External SSD from Kanguru features a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 interface that combines with NVMe technology to deliver sequential read speeds of up to 675 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 575 MB/s. However, it is backward compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds of up to 25 MB/s.
Compatible with Windows and Mac, this SSD uses bus power, while an integrated write protect switch helps users prevent the accidental deletion of data. There is also Secure Firmware, which helps prevent the SSD from being used to deliver malicious threats into an organization's network. Thanks to an aluminum housing with a rubber protective case, the SSD is protected against bumps and drops. Included is a USB-C to USB-C cable and a USB-C to USB-A cable.
NVMe is significantly faster than traditional spinning hard disk drives, in that it is designed to leverage low latency and high throughput of NAND flash memory. This results in a higher bandwidth to the CPU for significantly faster data transfer speeds, and lower latency, for better performance.
NVMe takes advantage of the parallelism of modern SSDs, which allows multiple queues and commands to process simultaneously. Where older SATA interfaces use a single command queue, NVMe is able to handle multiple read and write requests at the same time.
