The 6061-T6 aluminum-constructed plate has a black anodized surface and the anti-twist lip is silver anodized, which makes them tough against scratches and scuffs. The lip can be mounted with a 90° or 30° angle, for a snug fit against the tripod collar foot on the lens, and this feature helps to keep a tighter fit, which prevents the lens foot from pivoting while mounted to the plate. The single 1/4"-20 mountinng screw is used to attach the plate to the lens's tripod foot, and the two additional 1/4"-20 mounting sockets are for optional mounting positions on a tripod. The two integrated safety stops prevent the plate from sliding out if a quick release assembly is accidentally opened, and the industry-standard QD socket allows you to carry the lens with a shoulder or sling strap
