As the name suggests, Minox designed their 8x33 X-active Binoculars to allow you to move fast, find game, and track itto be your go-to optic that you'll keep in your hunting kit year-round. This model strikes a delicate balance between compact and full size, offering the carrying and handling convenience of the former with the performance of the latter.
Proprietary M* anti-reflection multi-coatings on the lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity. Their 8x magnification ensures the exit pupil is wide enough for use in low light, and the eye relief is long enough to prevent eyestrain, all while producing an ultra-wide field of viewall critical components for scanning the terrain while identifying your target and maintaining sight of it without it seeing or smelling you. The 33mm objectives keep the views bright and sharp while remaining relatively compact, allowing you to maneuver easily without excessive movement that can spook game and not weighing you down when you're stalking or walking all day.
Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to cut weight without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip, even if you need to use them one-handed. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy wrapped in a protective armor that provides a slip-resistant gripespecially in cold and wet weather. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be resistant to internal fogging and also waterproof and submersible to 16'so the X-active binoculars will fair better than you if they tumble into a stream or pond. And if you do end up in a stream, tethered objective lens caps and one-piece ocular rainguard prevent their loss, while allowing for fast reaction when opportunities present themselves.
Optical Performance
- Moderate 8x power magnifies subject without narrowing the view and exit pupil or shortening the eye relief
- 33mm objective lenses provide the performance similar to a full-size model without the bulk and weight
- Roof prism light path produces smaller optical tubes versus Porro prism design for more comfortable handling without compromising performance
- Phase-correcting prism coatings reduce or eliminate internal interference to correct ghosting and halos for better resolution and clarity
- Proprietary M* anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics improve light transmission to boost contrast and produce a neutral color rendition to make colors appear more true and natural
- Ultra-wide 64° apparent angle of view reduces the appearance of distracting hand shake and the need for the user to move their head to see the scene in front of them
- Spacious 422-foot field of view at 1000 yards
