Outfitted with a magnification and objective lens combination that are optimized for low-light use, the Minox 8x56 X-active Binoculars are designed to allow you to move fast, find game, and track it from the first glimmer of dawn through to the last dying rays of dusk.
The binoculars' 8x power brings your subject in close for observation and positive identification while presenting you with an ultrawide exit pupil and extra-long eye relief, making them ideal for bird watching and hunting. The massive 56mm objectives keep the views bright and sharp even in low and challenging light like at dawn and dusk or under heavy cloud cover or forest canopies. Proprietary M* anti-reflection multi-coatings on the lenses and phase-corrected roof prisms transmit bright and clear high-contrast images with true neutral color rendition and crisp clarity. From the generous field of view to the wide exit pupil to the long eye relief, the X-active's performance is critical for scanning the terrain while identifying your target and maintaining sight of it without it seeing or smelling you.
Utilizing an open-bridge/dual-hinge configuration helps to offset the weight of the large objectives without sacrificing stability while providing plenty of room to wrap your hands completely around the optical tubes for a better grip. The chassis is made of a lightweight and durable aluminum alloy wrapped in a protective armor that provides a slip-resistant gripespecially in cold and wet weather. The optical tubes are nitrogen filled and O-ring sealed to be resistant to internal fogging and also waterproof and submersible to 16'so the X-active will fair better than you if they tumble into a stream or pond. And if you do end up in a stream, tethered objective lens caps and one-piece ocular rainguard prevent their loss while allowing for fast reaction when opportunities present themselves.
Optical Performance
- Moderate 8x power magnifies subject without narrowing the view and exit pupil or shortening the eye relief
- Large 56mm objective lenses are optimized for challenging low-light use, ensuring views remain bright and sharp from the pre-dawn hours through past dusk and helping to produce the wide exit pupil and long eye relief for comfortable low-light use
- Roof prism light path produces smaller optical tubes versus Porro prism design for more comfortable handling without compromising performance
- Phase-correcting prism coatings reduce or eliminate internal interference to correct ghosting and halos for better resolution and clarity
- Proprietary M* anti-reflection fully multi-coated optics improve light transmission to boost contrast and produce a neutral color rendition to make colors appear more true and natural
- Apparent angle of view approaches wide angle to lower the need for the user to move their head to see the scene in front of them, allowing them to concentrate on the viewing experience
- 380-foot field of view at 1000 yards
Use and Handling
- Open-bridge, dual-hinge configuration offers stability and rigidity
- Large knurled center focus wheel is easy to manipulate in cold and wet weather or when wearing gloves
- ±4 right-eye dioptric correction enables to achieve tack sharp focus even if their eyesight isn't perfect
- Twist-up eyecups for comfortable use with or without eyewear
- Tripod mountable with 1/4"-20 socket
- Ultralong 20mm eye relief improves viewing comfort and reduces eyestrain
- Ultrawide 7mm exit pupil will completely cover pupils in low and challenging light conditions to keep the whole scene in view
