Sachtler Flowtech Series Tripod Legs Overview
The lightweight Sachtler flowtech 100 MS Carbon Fiber Tripod with Mid-Level Spreader offers notable stability and quick setup and adjustments for payloads up to 66 lb. The novel flowtech design features quick release locks at the top of the legs, eliminating the need to stoop while adjusting the tripod height. All three legs can be deployed simultaneously to quickly find their individual levels on uneven ground.
The flowtech 100's versatile leg hinges adjust freely or can be locked at 20, 46, and 72° angles, providing a height range from 10" to 5' and reducing the need to carry a set of baby legs. Additional ergonomic features include a flatter leg design that's more comfortable when carrying on your shoulder, and magnetic locks that neatly snap the legs together for travel. Three handy 3/8"-16 threaded mounts can be used to attach a variety of accessories.
Weighing only nine pounds with its spreader and feet, the flowtech 100 can support a payload of up to 66 pounds and extends from a minimum height of 20" to a maximum height of 61" when using the included mid-level spreader. Each leg features a single clamping lever that quickly and easily locks and unlocks the three sections.
Designed with dual-spiked feet, this 100mm bowl tripod includes rubber feet that feature a quick release design for easy attaching and removal. A flowtech Carry Handle is included to enable carrying your flowtech system in one hand.

Great for a one person band
I'm a big fan of these sticks. Especially if you are running things solo.
Sachtler quality product
The Flowtech 100 fits my needs perfectly. Lightweight, super easy to set up and versatile in terms of height and how low you can get it to the ground (middle spreader removes easily to facilitate this). Have yet to use it on a shoot but so far I�m very happy with it.
Has a few quick deployment issues
Had one for the last week. The legs do not drop free when you release the red clamps, and must be physically pulled down and extended manually. The leg lock hinges also constantly unlock, causing the legs not to be able to spread out when tripod is opened. The leg hinge lock buttons are too easy to push, and will unlock from simply laying in the trunk of a vehicle. For ENG quick deployment, I am finding this to tripod takes a lot of setup time. After it is setup, a full minute later, the tripod is extremely stable, especially torsionally, meaning it doesnt twist when a lot of force is applied, and the built in handle is really nice. When the legs actually dropped freely the first few days of ownership, that handle made it easy to hold the tripod in the air while the legs fell to the ground. Spreader seems built like a tank, and the feet are a big improvement over past Sachtler feet that would tend to roll over 90 degrees.
Perfect for the professional
As with any pricey gear. You have to take into build quality, reliability, and how this tool is going to make your life easier and your work more efficient. With my various camera build configurations; including matte box/follow focus and portable teleprompter setup... this guy does the trick. In my estimation, its worth the investment to be able to move faster on a shoot and more easily get shots from different perspectives (where another tripod might make this work more laborious and cumbersome).
