SoundTools WC851-W Overview
Send audio over shielded Cat 5 cable with the white SoundTools WallCAT 2-Gang Analog Audio over Cat 5 Wall Plate. It has four male and four female XLR terminals wired in parallel on the front and two RJ45 terminals on the back for passing audio, DMX, AES3, or intercom signals over Ethernet to support long cable runs. The double-gang wall plate is designed to fit standard electrical junction boxes.
Analog Audio over Cat 5
Send analog audio from one room to another using a shielded Cat 5e cable and the WallCAT 8. This durable aluminum wall unit fits standard 4" US electrical junction boxes to easily send or receive four channels of XLR, AES3, DMX, or intercom throughout a venue or home.
Suitable for Studio or Office
With the WallCAT 8, SoundTools created a superior XLR wall plate for sending and receiving analog audio and COM over shielded Ethernet cables. It's compatible with analog, DMX, AES3, and intercom signals.
No Soldering Required
The WallCAT requires no soldering to install. Every connection you need, including eight total Neutrik XLR connectors (four male and four female wired in parallel) in front and two Amphenol RJ45 connections in the back, comes preinstalled and clearly labeled. The WallCAT 8 is designed to keep strong, stable connections, and the brushed aluminum and stainless steel mounting screws (included) are resistant to rust and most wear and tear.
Shielded Cable Allows Phantom Power
SoundTools WallCAT 8 requires shielded (STP/FTP) Cat cable to function properly. It is compatible with 48V phantom power. Using several SoundTools WallCAT 8 units and the optional SuperCAT cable in your building installation will allow you to run four channels of clear analog audio signals simultaneously from one room to another or to multiple rooms.
