Supporting the 160 MHz channel, this dual-band 802.11ax Wi-Fi access point delivers up to 2402 Mb/s over the 5 GHz band and 574 Mb/s on the 2.4 GHz frequency, allowing connected devices to smoothly stream videos and transfer data. It is designed to discreetly blend into most environments when mounted on a wall or ceiling using the included kit.
This access point can also be used to expand the coverage of your Omada Mesh network, providing an uninterrupted experience as connected users move. You can operate the EAP650 using its included power adapter or by transferring power and data through one cable by connecting its PoE+ complaint Gigabit Ethernet port to an 802.3at or passive PoE-compatible network switch or router. Your wireless network is protected with enterprise-class security and you can manage it from almost anywhere using the Omada cloud platform.
Ceiling and Wall Mountable
The EAP650 features a compact and slim design that blends into most environments when mounted on a ceiling or wall using the included kit.
This 802.11ax Wi-Fi access point includes powerful internal antennas that are designed to overcome high-density environments using beamforming, MU-MIMO, load balancing, and band steering technologies to efficiently deliver up to 2976 Mb/s over the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz wireless frequencies. The system intelligently optimizes performance by automatically switching to channels with the least interference.
Enjoy seamless roaming from room to room using a single network ID (SSID) by including this access point as part of your Omada Mesh network. Mesh networks are self-healing, meaning that the other access points will compensate should one stop working.
The cloud-based Omada platform allows you to configure, manage, and monitor all your supported network devices from a single interface, which can be accessed virtually anywhere at any time.

TP-Link EAP650 Reviews
Excellent Performance and Price

I'm using this access point to cover a one bedroom apartment, about 700sqft or so. I have both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks under the same SSID, and all devices are using 5Ghz as expected. This means bandsteering is working well. No problems with around 10 devices in a small home. With a fiber internet connection, I get these real-world speeds on an iPhone 12: - 600-700mbps within line of sight in the same room. - 500-600mbps on the other side of the wall. - 400-500mbps everywhere else, such as through kitchen appliances and a wall, or through two walls and glass shower door. Upload speed in these tests is approx 100mbps slower than download in every category. (e.g. if I'm getting 700mbps download, upload is around 600. If my download is 450, upload is 350.) I have two minor cons: - The configuration in the app without a controller is very minimal. Thankfully, I don't need it, but expect to install a controller if you need advanced features. In the iOS app using it as a standalone AP, you can only configure some basic radio power/channel settings, along with SSID. - It gets relatively hot in use. This is normal for network gear so it's not problematic, but worth mentioning. I have no issues using this for a small household with multiple devices at the same time. Great performance, no drops. Highly recommended!
