TP-Link ER605 v2 Overview
Secure your business network with the ER605 V2 Omada Gigabit VPN Router from TP-Link. Designed for high flexibility, this VPN router features five Gigabit Ethernet ports, two of which can be freely switched between WAN and LAN modes and work alongside the dedicated WAN and two LAN ports to manage multiple internet connections through one device. With the multi-WAN Load Balancing function, data streams are distributed according to the bandwidth proportion of every connected WAN port to optimize multi-line broadband utilization. A mobile 4G/3G broadband modem may be connected to the router through the USB 2.0 port as a backup WAN connection.
The ER605 V2 also provides comprehensive security coverage with IPSec, PPTP, and L2TP VPN support over the IPSec/SSL protocols in addition to VLAN support and advanced firewall policies. The IPsec VPN has a maximum throughput of 248.04 Mb/s with the ESP-SHA2-AES256 authentication and encryption algorithm. Additionally, the device can handle up to 150,000 concurrent sessions. Use the Omada app alongside a separately purchased controller to configure your ER605 V2 VPN router and other compatible network devices from almost anywhere, at any time.

TP-Link ER605 v2 Reviews
Great Value
This is a great value for a multi-WAN router. I purchased it so I could load-balance between my Xfinity fiber and T-Mobile 5G. It works great and it is easy to use.
Ver2 unavailable in Canada
The only seller willing to send up North the Version 2 of this router and still not available in Canada. Otherwise great device.
Plenty of CPU power
This has plenty of CPU easy to setup for normal use. If you want to for port forwarding with ACL of source IP and are not familiar with how it is done with TP-link I wouldn't recommend it for that.
Good but quirky
Solid router that had issues for the first couple days with my CenturyLink fiber. It would spin up the CPU/Memory usage and then disconnect from my Omada Controller. Turned off a lot of the attack defense settings and it has now settled down and been error free for several days. Solid replacement for the C4000XG router CenturyLink provided. Great integration with the Omada OC200 and SDN software. So far so good.
Good for home use
I bought this router to use at home since i was building my own wifi mesh with the omada wall plate access points. I love the periodic automated speed tests and the detailed stats this router gives. I have not yet used the vpn or advanced features, but plan to do so. My one disapointment is the lack of a build in ftp server and usb storage for a cental backup that you get with even 10 year old consumer wifi routers, but i'll probavly work that out with a dedicated nas or just use and old router at 100MB speeds. I also bought the omada hardwsre controller and poe switch to go with this and my AP's and they all work great together for a fast and seeless setup using the controller.
Great router!
This was the easiest router I have ever set up. Took just a few minutes, even with numerous port forwarding entries.
Ultimate bang for the buck
There is basically no competing product for this thing. It has all the features, it's reasonably documented, it's low powered, and it seems (so far) dead nuts stable. The IPSEC implementation also seems standard enough that it worked with an off-brand edge machine on NATted network. What a surprise when that worked first try. The only thing I miss: No graph showing throughput only tables updated ever so often. They're going to sell a TON of these. Things tested: VLAN proper isolation and routing IPSEC tunnels between fixed and dynamic IPV4 IPSEC between 1 fixed and 1 inside IPV4 OpenVPN PPTP server multiple WAN and WAN-USB failover USB WAN function virtual servers Dynamic DNS The test is far from complete but everything tested passed and almost the entire list is actually used when deployed. Another nice bit is the response of the little machine is reasonable, not sluggish like some. The only real delay happens if you reboot it. Plan for 3 minutes.
Ubiquiti's twin cousin
Well built and designed unit, almost mimics Ubiquiti's Unifi platform exactly. In fact, if you already know Unifi - the learning curve for using this OMADA device will make you right at home.
