The black QR-BK QUICKLOK from Ambient Recording is a quick release tip for microphone boompoles and can be used to provide a noise-free joint for attaching microphones, shock mounts, and other accessories.
The QUICKLOK features a taperlock where a taper stub (not included) screwed to the microphone assembly is inserted into a tapered hole through a butterfly opening, which is then twisted until the stub falls into place. The spring-loaded catch closes, locking the stub, and can only be removed by twisting the outer sleeve until the taper stub falls out.
Built of aluminum, the QR-BK has an ABS plastic cover for the spring and can be disassembled for occasional cleaning and regreasing.
