ANDYCINE LUNCHBOX Overview
With some DIY work done to your mSATA SSD, the LunchBox Magnalium Case from ANDYCINE allows you to install the SSD directly to the slot on the back of the NINJA V. An mSATA SSD such as a Samsung T5 or 860 EVO has to be removed from the case and the thermal adhesives stripped off. An included mSATA adapter and an included replacement adhesive then adapt your SSD into the LunchBox case, and then you're ready to connect and screw in the full assembly to your NINJA V. The LunchBox provides a compact and economical alternative to other options used for the NINJA 5, with some DYI work required.

cost effective and dissipates heat
After watching a few YouTube tutorials about installing Samsun T5 SSDs into the LunchBox, I decided to give it a try. The process isn't hard if you watch the tutorials, and exercise patience and care. The performance results are very good, and the cost savings is significant. The compact size is nice, as it completely exposes the Atomos Ninja V fan port. That, and the aluminum enclosure should help with keeping the Ninja V cooler and less prone to fan run up during shoots. I was never bothered by the Atomos caddies sticking out the side of the Ninja V and Shogun Inferno, as there is usually a HDMI cable there, too. However, the compact size eliminates this for those who prefer to avoid the SSD sticking out the side. The LunchBox works fine with the Atomos SSD USB-A reader that came with my Shogun Inferno. AndyCine offers an affordable reader that I will buy as a backup as it connects via (optional) USB-C cable. I will definitely build a couple more of these.

Those are amazing ! Small ! No heat ! The case is all aluminium and keeps the drive cool. ( be sure to install the thermal pads that comes with the enclosure ) Clears the Ninja V fan so the fan expels more heat from the back opening making the Ninja run cool and less noisy. Only drawback is that msata drives are very rare to find, the best option you have is to buy Samsung t5 drives ( not T7 ) that have a msata drive inside. You need to DIY it but it worth it. Easy DIY job. P.S You will need some kind of sata docking/usb to sata solution to hook the drives to your computer. AndyCine sells one that fits the look of the drives. I would think the Atomos USB dock works with it but I didn't tested.
