AVPro Edge AC-AVDM-V3 Overview
The 4K HDMI 8-Channel Audio/Video Downmixer from AVPro Edge is a versatile 8-channel bitstream decoder and Dolby Atmos/DTS-HD stereo audio downmixer. High-bandwidth 18 Gb/s video transmission is supported via HDMI and the affiliated audio signal can be simultaneously extracted and split to digital and analog audio outputs with support for uncompressed bitstream audio such as Dolby Atmos and DTS: X, DTS-HD formats up to LPCM 7.1 channels with audio sampling rates up to 192 MHz, and stereo (LPCM 2.0) over HDMI, S/PDIF (optical and coaxial), and analog RCA connections. ARC (Audio Return Channel) is supported when a connected display offers ARC-compatibility. The input and output HDMI ports support both UHD and DCI 4K resolutions at up to 60 fps (YUV 4:4:4, 8-bit) as well as EDID management.
Audio Downmixing
There is no need to set your source to 2-channel, no matter what kind of audio this device receives. Converting audio to 2-channel allows you to deliver Dolby Atmos sound to a home theater and 2-channel audio to a bedroom simultaneously.
4K Downscaling
This technology is managed on HDMI output 1. Scaling allows integrators to downscale 4K sources going to displays that may not support 4K. Other devices force a signal to work by dumbing down the entire system even if there is only one old 1080p display in the system.
Ideal for Overcoming AVR Problems
While especially well suited for audio, AVRs lack the robust ability to manage high-bandwidth HDR video. The unit allows integrators to bypass AVRs and send uncompressed video signals to displays or projectors. Integrators can then downscale the other AV stream to a lower bandwidth video while maintaining the original untouched audio codecs, making it ideal for sending this second HDMI signal into an AVR and then on to a surround sound system.
Audio Return Channel
ARC allows you to deliver local audio from internal smart TV apps like Netflix, Hulu, or Disney+ back to your head end. You can then distribute this audio through amplifiers for an enhanced audio experience.
Ultimate HDR Support
This matrix supports all flavors of HDR in all formats, including HDR, HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, HLG, BBC, and NHK. All of them are permitted in up to 4K60 and up to 12-bit Deep Color. All color space compressions are compatible.
