Darkglass Electronics KAAMOS Overview
Designed in collaboration with famed bassist and producer Amos Heller, the Darkglass Electronics KAAMOS is a bass distortion and octaver pedal that provides Alpha Omicron tone with a powerful octave-down effect. Sporting plenty of real-time controls for shaping your tone and signal path, as well as a configurable FX loop, this versatile pedal is perfect for intricate pedalboards.
You can stack your effects in series or parallel, and the FX loop is configurable in either setup with three positions, each opening up new tonal possibilities. A dedicated sub-octave output is useful for creative multi-amplifier setups. The KAAMOS sports two footswitches and controls for adjusting drive blend, tone, drive amount, drive level, octave filter, and octave level. The pedal also features an XLR output for DI applications with selectable wet or dry signal. Finally, a ground-lift switch can be used to eliminate pesky grounding loops during DI connections.
The return jack has a cable detector. If a cable is detected, the return signal is automatically mixed to the signal chain. With some parameter combinations the loop might also be internally bypassed to avoid unnecessarily cutting the signal in the middle of the chain.
Series and parallel FX modes each have the same three positions to choose from:
- Post octave
- Post distortion
- Clean parallel to octave/distortion
- Sublime (monophonic mute type)
- Sublemon (monophonic flip type)
- Subcitri (polyphonic)
