The Netgear GS348 48-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged Switch provides a straightforward plug-and-play solution for expanding your home or small office's network connections. With a switching capacity of 96 Gb/s (non-blocking) and a 1.44 Mpps forwarding capacity, connecting the 48-port switch to your network provides you with additional Gigabit Ethernet ports to plug devices such as computers, gaming consoles, access points, and network storage. Featuring a plug-and-play design, a rugged metal enclosure, and no fan, this desk or rackmounted unmanaged switch is designed for easy installation and quiet operation.
With Auto-MDI/MDIX support, you will not need crossover cables to connect additional switches and hubs.
The switch employs a non-blocking switching architecture that automatically adjusts the maximum data throughput to the wire's speed.
In addition to having a fanless design, this switch features an Energy Efficient Ethernet standard and other technologies to save power.

This switch is well built, heavy. It comes with all the mounting hardware to install in a rack or on a desk. It is plug and play: plug your network connections and everything works as it should. It comes with 3 years warranty: I expect it to last at least 3x that much. The activity lights are on the one side of the ports and small; however that is a trivial inconvenience.
