QNAP TL-R2400PES External HDD/SSD Overview
Expand the storage capacity of a QuTS hero or QTS NAS using SATA hard drives with the TL-R2400PES-RP 24-Bay JBOD Enclosure from QNAP, which provides a large data capacity and fast transfer speeds, making it an ideal solution for archiving/backing up virtualization applications, surveillance recordings, large data, and multimedia. Features 24 drive bays that support both 3.5 and 2.5" SATA III 6 Gb/s and SATA II 3 Gb/s drives.
Compatible with select QNAP NAS enclosures, connectivity is established using dual Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 ports, with additional SFF-8644 ports available for cascading multiple expansions. Data transfer speeds can reach as high as 64 Gb/s (8000 MB/s), while the enclosure is powered by dual redundant 550W PSUs and kept cool using three 80mm fans.

Cascades Multiple Expansion Units
Install the QXP-3X8PES (PCIe Gen 3 x8) or the QXP-3X4PES (PCIe Gen 3 x4) storage expansion cards in your QNAP NAS depending on your requirements for flexible storage expansion.

Expand Existing NAS Storage Pools
You can expand existing storage pools on the host NAS by simply adding new volumes created on the TL-R2400PES-RP. RAID re-building or complicated settings are not required. All settings can be configured using Storage & Snapshots Manager on the host NAS. The TL-R2400PES-RP is a great solution for accommodating ever-increasing data or backup files.
To achieve better performance, it is recommended to create storage volumes physically located within the same NAS or expansion enclosure, rather than creating storage volumes across the NAS or expansion enclosure.
