Schoeps MK 2HG MATCHED TRIO Overview
Part of the Colette modular microphone system, the matte gray Schoeps MK 2H is an omnidirectional microphone capsule compatible with all Colette amplifiers. This product contains three, matched MK 2H capsules that can be mounted on a Decca tree microphone array, most commonly used for orchestral recording.
The MK 2H capsule's mild, high-frequency-response elevation above 6 kHz (at 0°) compensates for high-frequency losses caused by a slightly increased, diffuse field amount at medium recording distances. Often described as balanced and round, the MK 2H is ideal for A/B stereophony and Decca Tree�together with the optional KA 40 sphere accessory.
Note:
These capsules are delivered with a hand-signed Certificate from the factory. Matching is of frequency response and sensitivity within exceptionally low tolerances.
Practice
- The MK 2H is ideal for natural-sounding pickup of instruments and orchestras in spaces with well-balanced reverberance. When this microphone capsule is used indoors at medium recording distances (i.e. where direct sound energy is similar in amount to reflected sound energy), its overall response will be linear. Its extended frequency response and low noise make it appropriate for the most demanding applications.
