Vallerret Tinden Overview
Designed for the coldest winter weather, these extra-large Tinden Gloves from Vallerret will keep you comfortable for outdoor adventure photography. The gloves feature a 100% Merino wool lining, Primaloft insulation, and a water-resistant twill and goat leather exterior. FlipTech finger caps can be folded back and held with magnets to enable optimal dexterity when accessing the camera controls. The non-slip surface on each palm allows you to maintain a firm grip on your camera, tripod, or travel mug. A small storage pocket on the backs of the gloves will hold an SD memory card, a key, a handwarmer, etc. The full cuffs have touch-fastening wrist straps to seal out the chill.

Valleret Tinder Gloves
I live here in Maine and yes we've had some very cold weather, these gloves were not up to the task in keeping my hands warm.
Not perfect, but...
The first time I used these, I was out in 20-degree weather. They were mostly good, though in less than 2 hours, I was starting to feel the cold through the glove. For $120, I expect a little more. Still, they're way better than what I had.
Gloves run large
I ordered a medium based on the measuring guideline provided on the product website and still had over an inch space. These gloves are meant to fit snugly. Reviews on other Valleret photography gloves indicate the gloves run small, but not the case for this. The quality is excellent, but meant for a man's use.
really warm; excellent quality
Used these a few days ago for a 3 hour photo hike in 15 degrees F (= -9.5 C). Kept my hands nice and warm, was really happy. Maybe my little finger got a tiny bit cold so all I needed to do was pull them in for a few mins then extend again. But honestly it was quite cold so something like that is to be expected. I used a cheaper pair of gloves later that day outside for something else and my entire hand was cold. These are fantastic, can recommend them confidently. Size is fairly true - I'd normally use a large and these fit (perhaps a tiny bit more snugly than others but that's good for photography).

Upon arrival, I immediately noticed that these gloves were well above my expectations - everything about them had a well-thought-out solid design. The materials they use feel great, have a rugged exterior design, and will certainly keep your hands warm. If you're looking for that extra warmth boost though, you can also tuck away some hand warmers into the zipper compartment in each of the gloves. Compared to other photo gloves, this brand is in a completely different league when it comes to build quality. Another thing I'd like to mention is that I used Vallerret's size guide for a small and they fit incredibly well - not too tight and not too baggy. I've seen others saying that you should always go a size up although if you just use their sizing guide it should get you the best fit possible; honestly no need to go a size up. Overall I'm extremely impressed with these gloves and can't wait to start shooting with them!
Nice and comfortable
Only had these a short while but they appear really well made. They are really warm and feel really nice. The magnets simply work to reveal your fingers when required and slip back into the warmth of the glove.
Well made and functional
These are well made high quality gloves. We bought two pairs to have for our crew. The folding finger and thumb function works fairly well, though they are stiff at first and hopefully will become more flexible with time and use. Overall a good winter glove and better than taking off your gloves to work, so I'd say they are worth it.

Quit warm and the sticky spots on the gloves make holding a camera in cold weather easy.
